Not only are we creating these PvP gamebooks, but we are including a free PDF of the dungeon set up as an OSE adventure so you can bring it to your regular game night as well!

In an homage to the lost art of killing your friends, The Black Spire Pact is our first foray into Player Versus Player Adventure Gamebooks.  Built upon the tried and true Old School Essentials mechanics and streamlined for a choose-your-own-path gamebook style of play, The Black Spire Pact is a competitive game for everyone who has ever thought, "I think my character could destroy your character."

In this two-book set, each player receives their own book to pursue their quest while running encounters for their enemy. One player takes on the role of Voth, a power-mad sorcerer with a penchant for demonology, while the other plays the demon lord, Marax, who wants nothing more than to stop Voth from pestering all the demonic minions and get the hell out of hell.



Just as these books will pit players against each other, ruining the best of friendships, we are excited to announce our two rival artists, Arik Roper versus Skinner! A truly psychedelic showdown of mystical prowess against the powers of chaos! As they battle it out with brush and pen, will Marax guide Skinnner to victory, or will Voth summon unholy aids to assist Roper's assault?!

The Black Spire Pact is built upon OSE and the new Demonic Grimoire!  While there are mechanical changes to accommodate Player Versus Player mode, expanded stats for enemies, characters, and items are included, as well as an OSE-specific version of the dungeon so that you can easily bring them to your regular OSE game.
