🎮 The Purrfect Cure – Digital Game Prototype [UNLOCKED]

This is a downloadable digital prototype based on the characters from The Purrfect Cure, a fun way to explore the world beyond enamel pins.

What is Purrfect Cure, the Game?

The Purrfect Cure is a competitive shedding game (to get rid of cards in hand) for 2–6 players that blends hand management, area control, and tempo pressure. Players use ranked hands (singles, straights, or sets) to contest shared outbreak stages, replacing weaker plays while reclaiming identity-matching cards to power future turns. Each round begins with a fixed starting stage, but new stages enter play dynamically through player actions or automatic escalation when stages become overcrowded. Hidden identities create asymmetry in how players benefit from reclaimed cards, while research tokens serve as both a scoring resource and a currency to force new stages. Rounds and even the game can end abruptly, rewarding precise timing, controlled aggression, and smart risk-taking rather than long-term engine building. 

The designs are clean, expressive, and intentionally restrained to translate beautifully into enamel pins. Every character is carefully composed with bold shapes, clear outlines, and strong silhouettes—ensuring the final pins are readable, durable, and visually striking at pin scale.

This collection was designed from the start as a complete set, not a random assortment. Each piece contributes to the overall story and aesthetic of the series.

All artwork in The Purrfect Cure is illustrated by Kolabi, an emerging artist with a unique and versatile illustration style. Her work combines expressive character design, thoughtful details, and a strong sense of personality, perfect for creating collectible pins that feel both cohesive and full of life.

Kolabi’s portfolio showcases a wide creative range, from character illustration and concept sketches to playful chibi-style art and warm narrative scenes. For this project, she brought the plague doctor characters to life through clean silhouettes, bold shapes, and carefully balanced details, ensuring each design reads clearly at pin scale while still carrying its own story and mood.

We’re excited to share her work through this collection, and we hope this campaign introduces more people to Kolabi’s art and future projects.

After the campaign ends on February 12, 2026, we will begin preparing the pledge manager immediately. We expect it to take about two weeks to set up, and we plan to send a smoke test by the end of February.

A “smoke test” is a short test run of the pledge manager, sent to a small group of backers to confirm that everything is working properly, such as reward selections, add-ons, shipping settings, and checkout flow, before we open it to everyone.

Shortly after mid-March, we will begin processing pledge manager selections and finalizing backer rewards.

At the same time, we will start production as soon as the campaign ends, using the campaign pledge quantities (plus some extras). This parallel workflow helps us maintain a tight and reliable schedule.

Our goal is to begin fulfillment by mid-April 2026, with backers receiving their rewards throughout April and May 2026.

At Sunrise Tornado, we take product quality and fulfillment reliability seriously. While every crowdfunding project involves some level of risk, we plan carefully, work with experienced vendors, and communicate clearly throughout the entire process.

We have successfully launched and delivered 20+ crowdfunding projects, meeting our commitments to backers and completing fulfillment as promised. Our only currently active project still in development is Boba Mahjong Grande (Kickstarter), which is progressing on schedule through final development and production planning.

Enamel pins and tote bags are products we can manufacture with a well-established and predictable production process. However, risks may include:

To minimize risk, we will confirm specs early, review proofs carefully, and prioritize quality control before mass production begins.

One of the largest variables in the current environment is U.S. fulfillment and shipping conditions, which may be impacted by changes in regulations, tariffs, and logistics disruptions under the current administration.

That said, we have recent real-world experience navigating this environment. We successfully fulfilled two crowdfunding projects in 2025, and we are confident in our ability to fulfill this project on time and with reliable delivery.

We are pushing for an efficient production schedule. This campaign ends on February 12th, and our goal is to begin fulfillment before mid-April, approximately two months after the campaign concludes, depending on final production timelines and freight.

If any unexpected delays occur, we will share updates promptly and transparently. We are always available to answer questions, and we consider clear communication a core part of our responsibility to backers.
