10 years ago, I wrote a really weird, dark-but-hopeful book called CHAMELEON MOON. It was about a city called Parole, permanently on fire, cut off from the rest of the world, and filled with (queer, trans, aroace, disabled, polyam, and everyone else the world would rather not exist) people with incredible superpowers.
It starred an anxiety-ridden lizard (but really dragon) boy and a trans sonic superheroine and her two awesome wives. It was... unusual. Large parts literally came to me in dreams.
And then it stopped. Because Life, and Health, and Covid, and the world on (literal and figurative) fire, and also many other projects.
...Until now.

The storm of the century is coming. It's been ten years since the fires below Parole were set ablaze, never to be stopped. Its people--superhuman, terrifying, innocent, beautiful--have spent that time quarantined behind energy barriers, struggling to survive against a militarized police force, and now the city's begun to Collapse into its forever-fire.
Parole has reached a breaking point. Its population is even more desperate, and Eye in the Sky more vicious. The barriers are fraying, holes opening, letting smoke out and clean air in, and raindrops--and hope.
Something's going to give. Instead of fire, a tidal wave is building. If anything at all is going to be okay, they'll just have to ride it out together.

CALL THE STORM is incredibly important to me, and not just because it's taken 10 years. This isn't planned to be The Finale of Chameleon Moon, but as we know, life happens, and... if this is the last book we get, I want to make it an awesome ending point.
So along with the colorful ensemble cast we know and love, this one is going to heavily feature Liam, The Fallen (self-described) Prince of Parole, and Hans, The Ghost Who Makes Everything Worse... as they try to stop making everything worse, and perhaps, in fact, better!
It's also going to start to bring both storylines (In and Out of Parole/everyone from THE LIFELINE SIGNAL!) together, bring Regan home at last, and maybe most of all... bring the rain.
Call The Storm: Because we're done burning. We're done with barely surviving. Now, it's time to Call The Storm. After us comes the flood.

I want to be super clear first that this is a crowdfund in advance, not an actual book launch - everything will go directly toward the creation of the book, but the book itself is not fully written yet.
The tentative CALL THE STORM launch date is March 2028, but ideally sooner.
Every other reward, including physical items, will go out much faster.
This is for a couple reasons - primarily because I want to do a really good job and not a half-assed one, as it's very important I knock Book 3 out of the park and give you something that rocks.
Secondly, I am ALSO, at this same time, very busy working on a contracted interactive fiction title for Choice of Games, called THE GREAT BATSBY! (Gatsby, but what if everyone was vampires?) So that naturally needs to have my primary attention until it's done - fortunately I'm making very good progress!
Thirdly, I do deal with several chronic illnesses/disabilities, and while I am stubborn (and slightly obsessive) as hell, I simply can't do everything as fast as an abled person can. I'll still do it, but not in the same time frame.
