Project Update: Banner reward stickers have arrived! (and survey reminder)

Hey folks,

I'm happy to report that the banner reward stickers arrived today and they look great!

actual size: 6"x2"

They're made of thick, weather-proof, laminate coated vinyl so should look good on anything you decide to gnomify with them. If you backed a minimum of 3 projects in the Family Friendly banner, you will automatically receive one of these bad boys!

Meanwhile, the print files for the game are at the printers and the order is just waiting on final counts. So, the sooner everyone completes their survey to confirm their order quantities, the sooner I can hit GO and get the machines producing!

Remember: even though it is asking for your shipping address now, you will not be charged shipping until I am ready to actually send the games out. When we are at that stage of the process there will be options for local pickup or to donate yours to the "community copy" fund.

And if you (or someone you know) missed out on the campaign, the pre-order store is still open! Just click here to place your order for the game and any add-ons you like.

Take care and talk again soon!

Project Update: Post-campaign update #1: extra content, printing, a tentative schedule

(En français ci-dessous)

Hello everyone!

I'm sorry it took so long to write this first post-campaign update: May has been brutal and I'm just emerging from the rubbles. But now it seems congratulations are in order, since hey, the project funded! 155 backers ain't nothing and I was so happy to see a lot of familiar names in the crowd, with many more new. Thank you to each and everyone of you!
The money raised amounts to what I initially budgeted for a softcover book with nothing fancy inside (except the beautiful drawings of François, of course). I'll be blunt and say I was disappointed with this, since I had a vision of a much nicer book in my mind, one that I thought was attainable... so I took some time to think, I crunched some numbers, I contacted some printers and you know what, I'm going to make this nice book even if it costs me money from my own pocket, dang it! In the past month my TTRPG sales have been very good, so I might as well put this money to good use, don't you think?
I've yet to sign on the dotted line but it looks like the game will be printed in Latvia and will be a hardcover volume with a quarter cloth binding, just like those gorgeous children books. And while I'm at it, I'm adding more art by François sprinkled here and there and a full map of Poppy Valley as one of the endpapers!!

All of this is, I hope you'll agree, quite rad, but it's going to take a bit more time: François will try to deliver the new illustrations in about a month, and then the printer has a waiting list, meaning that I'll probably being posting your packages by late August / early September. I'll keep you updated on this, of course, and you'll receive notice of a late pledge / open survey period to add anything you want to your order and pay your shipping fees!
In the meantime, I've opened a pre-order shop for the game: if you've got friends who could be interested in A Week with Frog and Rabbit but have not backed it, pass the news around!

I'll write to you again in a couple of weeks, when I have new illustrations to show you :)

Best,

Project Update: Component upgrade! And surveys going out soon

It's been quite the whirlwind since the campaign ended, putting all the pieces together to order games and also finalize the pledge manager surveys.

We have some big news regarding the game components:

Image on left of the Night Tracker card, with text on right reading: Component upgrade: Separate Night Tracker card for ALL Pocket Edition games!

We'll be including the Night Tracker as a separate card!

Though we didn't quite reach that stretch goal during the campaign, thanks to both backer generosity and some bonus support after the campaign ended, we will be able to separate out the Night Tracker component, so it is no longer on the back of the rule booklet. This will make it possible to reference the rulebook while playing, which was an important upgrade for us.

This also means the quick reference for turn actions will no longer need to be on the cards, as that will move to the back of the rule booklet in place of the original Night Tracker.

That means 2 bonus trivia cards included in the deck!

These are new questions, not included in the original board game.

With all that settled, we've just about finished all the art files for the game. We'll be sending them to the manufacturer soon for their checks, and then carefully double-checking the proofs.

Once the order is placed, we'll be working on the PNP edition, which should be ready later this summer.

Meanwhile, we will soon be sending out the surveys.

First up, the Smoke Test: a small number of backers will receive their surveys first, to ensure everything is working smoothly.

When we're sure they're all set, we'll be sending the surveys to everyone else. So if you're in that first batch, please fill out your surveys when you see them!

Please note: shipping will be charged later.

You'll see this noted in the surveys as well, but to clarify, the pledge manager will work in a few stages:
  1. You fill out the surveys to confirm your goodies and add-ons.
    • Please make sure to fill yours out by July 22, 2026, when surveys will lock.
  2. Digital rewards (the PNP file) go out.
  3. You receive a reminder to verify or update your mailing address, if receiving physical rewards.
  4. Shipping fees are charged once games and goodies are ready to be sent.

If you have any questions about the surveys, please don't hesitate to reach out

And if you missed the campaign but would still like to order goodies (or know someone who does):

Check out the preorder store here!

Project Update: Surveys are out!

Thanks to the folks who received the smoke test surveys and filled them out so promptly! As a result, we've now been able to send out all surveys.

If you miss or lose the email, you can also access your survey here: https://gelt-galore-pocket-edition.backerkit.com

Or if you've been procrastinating, you can access the preorder store here: https://gelt-galore-pocket-edition.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders/

We've also decided to update the tag line for the pocket edition games!

Because this version of the game prioritizes playing with tokens instead of goodies like gelt and candy, using "treats" in the tagline felt a little misleading. So we'll be updating this version's tag line to:

👉 A game of tradition, twists, and trivia! 👈

What do you think? Let us know in the comments!

We're just a few tweaks away from sending art files to the manufacturer and officially kicking off the process of creating these games! Of course, we'll keep you posted all the way ☺️

Project Update: Surveys and printer files sent!

Good afternoon (good evening or goodnight?),

I've spent some time today prepping the print files for all the cards with their voted-upon gnames and making some updates to the rulebook. I just sent those all off to the printer for proofing, so we're moving right along on that front!

And since that went so smoothly, I've also just hit "send" on the full list of backer surveys. You all should be receiving them shortly before or after you get this update! Please go ahead with confirming your order contents (adding any extras you feel so moved to grab up) so I can finalize the print order quantity, enter your shipping address, and confirm your payment method. The orders won't be locked down until later this month and remember that shipping won't be charged until the Fall when games are ready to go out.

Have a great week and stay Gnomey!

Project Update: Update 06 - So we didn't quite get there...

Hi folks,

Firstly, let me start by saying a big thank you to everyone who backed us. You support has been amazing and its thanks to such an awesome group like you that any games get made.

Although we didn't quite make it to our funding goal this time around, all is not lost. Later this year, we will be launching another project and this will give you a chance to not only back our new project but also get your hands on The Fable of Mabel on the Witch's Table as well.

So keep on eye on your inbox in the coming weeks, as I will be sending out all you need to know about the new project.

Once again, thank you for your support.

Project Update: Pre-order link and surveys

Hey Gnome Fans,

I've been working behind the scenes this past week to get the post-campaign pledge manager set up and ready. If you missed the campaign and would still like to join us, there is now a pre-order button on the campaign front page!

Meanwhile I've just sent out a "smoke test" of surveys so a few of you should receive that email to test that everything is working. Once those are confirmed then all other backers will receive their surveys to confirm their orders, payment methods, and addresses. Remember that final shipping will not be charged until this Fall when I have games in hand and everything is ready to actually go in the mail.

Have a great weekend!

We did it, everyone! We crossed the "funded" line overnight, and what a great thing to wake up to! Thank you so much to everyone for your support and for joining me on this gnomish journey.
Success!

We've still got a few hours left, so now that it's a sure thing feel free to keep sharing with your gnome loving friends and family so they can join us too.

And don't forget that the Gnome Gnaming Polls will still be open until the campaign ends at 4pm (Eastern), so get those votes in for your favorite Gnames!
