The community speaks! Choose the best twelve anomalies to get added to the book. Keep in mind: Polls on BackerKit have a character limit! That means that in the actual book, the anomalies / breaches will likely be a bit longer—expect something closer to a paragraph in length or longer for each entry.

Who killed the Professor? A violent barkeep seeking payment for money owed? An addict waitress in over her head in debt? An ex-business partner with a personal vendetta? A slighted brother sick of living in a shadow? A gang leader whose not against a little murder? Or was it Harton herself and this whole event a crazed plot?

Project Update: FREE MODULE: The Call of the Void + Collaboration Partner: HUNTERS!

Hello everyone!

We're a week away from Mothership Month 25! So it seemed a great time to throw out a nice little freebie module for those that jump in and follow the project. Those that are already following can grab the module straight from this update. Google Drive link below.

The Call of the Void

The Oculus research station has gone quiet, the staff within succumbing to the paranoia inducing side-effects of what was meant to be protecting them.
Can you save the crew? Find the missing Research Reports? Or will you too fall to the call of the Void!

Cross-Collaboration: Hunters

This year we we have awesomely teamed up with Green Beetle Games and their MoshMonth creation, HUNTERS: a death-game module with a tight time limit and high stakes set in the Sink on Prospero's Dream.

If you're new to Backerkit or its Cross-Collaboration tools. The concept is fairly simple. Back both projects, grab a free reward!

Our Cross-Collab reward is a Brochure Module (print & digital) called Ratcatcher! The module takes the core concepts of Hunters, and slips the thrilling game of cat and mouse into the Slums District of Terminal Directive. Offering a prelude to Hunters or a bonus mission while playing through Terminal Directive.

Project Update: Update #14: July Progress Update

Greetings y’all,

Firstly, my apologies for the delay in update over the last month-plus. The last weeks of June through the early weeks of July were a busy and somewhat rough time in the household, including a not insignificant number of problems with my day job. Things have mostly settled at this time and, thankfully, there are quite a few positive updates for the project:

  • BIG NEWS: If you haven’t seen it come through, the PDFs of No Gods, No Masters went out to backers via the Mothership Month’ 25 Mega Pledgemanager! These PDFs include the module in pages, spreads, and a B&W, print-friendly version (which I quite like as it reminds me of the DC Unwrapped editions). Each version includes bookmarks and hyperlinks for easy navigation. I hope y’all are digging into the module and will come back with stories of your own climbs!

  • Almost as big news: Sphere of Influence is complete! It’s currently with TKG for approval and I look forward to getting the PDFs out to everyone shortly thereafter. This took a little longer than expected as my developmental editor, Josh, was in the final phases of Liminal Horror: Deluxe Edition at the end of June. I’m pretty proud of this little zine, and the scenario contained within should be a damn good time.

  • Printing-wise, No Gods, No Masters is currently with the printer. We’ve gone back and forth through a couple rounds of color-correction, but I’m hopeful to get those wrapped up next week and have the physical print-proof in my hands shortly thereafter. Sphere of Influence will go off to the printer next week and will likely follow the same process.

Once printing is wrapped up, I’ll be packing everything up to go out to Quartermaster Logistics for distribution. I expect that to happen in early August, which is a bit behind where I hoped to be but still well within the distribution goals of MM’25. After that point, I’m going to focus in on completing the player-facing dossiers for NGNM and the bespoke loadouts for the cross-collaboration with Grim Merchants

In other news, here’s some more cool stuff currently on deck:

  • For those that backed both NGNM and Grim Merchants, the brothers Kramer have wrapped up the merchant-specific mission cards to be used with NGNM. I did a couple early review passes and they look fun as hell.

  • As mentioned above, Liminal Horror: Deluxe Edition is wrapped up and ready for print! I highly recommend checking out the project as everything they’ve produced so far looks absolutely phenomenal. I personally can’t wait to get the book in my hands.

That’s it for this month. If you have any issues with the project (e.g., you haven’t received the NGNM PDFs, noticed something wonky with the hyperlinks, etc.), you can now reach out to me directly at the newly minted [email protected].

Sincerely,
Nate (ThereWolf! Games)

Project Update: PDF Updates and More!

Happy Tuesday, everyone! This month we are excited to give you new updates on a few projects from Mothership Month 25.

First, we are excited to announce that by the end of the week, you should receive the PDFs for the following books and zines:

  • Player's Survival Guide
  • Warden's Operation Manual
  • Ship Breaker's Toolkit
  • Unconfirmed Contact Reports
  • Dead Planet
  • A Pound of Flesh
  • Gradient Descent
  • Another Bug Hunt
  • Wages of Sin
  • Megadamage 01

You will be able to find these on your pledge manager by Saturday.

We also have updates on a few of the other MM25 projects! This is from Scott Connor, who is behind The Company’s New Groove-

“Here are some images from the test print of the Zine, highlighting the UV Spot that we have for the cover as well as a look at the interior showing off some of the threats.

I also included another image that I made for my test players after finishing our playthrough of the module. Since the adventure is so music heavy I really felt like it was important to detail exactly where all the music they heard from our games came from as well as showcasing more of HUMMELGRAFIK's amazing artwork.

Finally here are two images; one a group photo of the various test prints as well as one showing off the cocktail menu trifolds.”

The UV spot definitely cranks the awesome up to 11.

We also have a sneak peak of stickers and the Tar Pit Protocol pamphlet from the Lucid Dreaming project by Wicked Oni Publishing-

We love us some sticker packs.

Last, an update from the Waco Matrixo of the Prospero Protocols project-

“I just had my MM25 zine, Prospero Protocols arrive from the printer.”
Check them out!

Prospero Protocols book

3 modules, 24+ pages of content, and endless adventures for your crew.

It’s so exciting to see these projects wrapping up! I will be providing more updates on Prospero’s Dream and the rest of the Mothership Month 25 projects soon. We appreciate your support of all things TKG and MM25!! Please reach out to my old pal Tyler at [email protected] if you have any questions or problems. Thanks for reading!

Project Update: July Update + Digital Downloads + And Finished

Hi all!

Just want to let you know that I am officially done with everything Breathe Easy! Digital Downloads are with TKG and should be uploaded sometime soon if I'm understanding correctly. If anyone wants to let me know when they receive them that'd be great!

I had a ton of fun with bringing Breathe Easy to life, trying to really encapsulate the esports arena and busyness of the slickworld fandom on Pyramus. It's designed with a heavy ad-like signage influence, influence from cut-out collage sports poster style, and of course the branding of the racing game itself, Beach Breeze Rally DX which I really ran with with contrasted saturated colors against the black. Perhaps my favorite part was making the cartridges for the slickworlds themselves. I won't tease that though. It was a blast designing D. G.'s writing and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Till next time,

Marco

Project Update: July Update

Hi everyone, welcome to the July update. The print copies of Prospero Protocols have arrived! You can see me and Happy Frank reviewing the module here:

Shipping

Unfortunately there's been some delays in receiving communication back from the distribution warehouses. I shipped the copies for European backers literally today. Once I've confirmed the delivery details with the US-based warehouse, I'm ready to ship the rest of the copies.

Me and Happy Frank recorded a timelapse of ourselves having fun preparing your products for delivery, you can watch it here:

Outstanding Tasks

In the last update, I mentioned there was still some outstanding digital content to come. Leon has completed the German language translation, so it's just down to me to re-do the layout. I will submit it to TKG along with the completed Stretch Goals within the next week. I'm not sure if you'll get notified that new digital documents are available for download, so maybe just check in a week's time to see if they're there.

I also had a meeting Andrew where we continued to work on the cross-collab.

  • Prospero Protocols (German language translation)
  • Stretch Goal - secret objective handouts ✅
  • Stretch Goal - digital map codes for companion app ✅
  • Cross-collab tri-fold with And Tomorrow Games

Printer-Friendly Pledge Level

As a reminder, fulfilment for this project is being handled by Tuesday Knight Games. I received multiple messages from backers of the Printer-Friendly pledge level. I've messaged TKG about the issue and haven't received any more complaints. If you're a Printer-Friendly backer and haven't received your files, please contact me ([email protected]) or TKG ([email protected]).

Lastly, if you enjoy Prospero Protocols or any of the other Mothership modules I've created - please leave me a review or comment over on my itch.io page. I'm self-employed and it can not be overstated just how helpful positive reviews are for me. Also, if you want to be notified of about my next Mothership projects (I'm working on something exciting for 2027), you can sign-up to my mailing list.

Project Update: BREAKING NEWS: June-July Update + 9 Circles announcement

Hello everyone,

We are finally ready to print. After releasing the PDF, a very zealous fan (I say this in the most gentle, thankful, and appreciative way) brought up a few points that we've since ironed out: some artefacts coming from the document export, and a few things that remained from previous versions of the story that evolved and didn't make the final cut. This makes this version the best possible BREAKING NEWS. We are waiting for confirmation on final print quantities before sending it to press, after which it ships to the warehouses where TKG takes care of logistics for us.

We started production on the Oracle patches (and hit a rough patch... pun intended): the supplier didn't match the expected warmer yellow color. They are currently working on fixing this, and we should be all good timeline-wise, making sure early birds and other patch aficionados will be able to display their allegiance to the best news outlet on Prospero's Dream: The Oracle.
A big one for me: the next project is finally unveiling. 9 Circles: a Dante-Inspired Mothership RPG Anthology is heading to crowdfunding on BackerKit on September 1st. I've been working diligently on this massive and very fulfilling new book, and I'm beyond excited to finally share it.  This concept has been on my mind since before the first words of BREAKING NEWS hit the page, and I am so happy with how it's shaping up.

9 Circles is an anthology containing nine different stories, illustrated by nine different artists; each adventure has a unique mechanic, rooted in the original poem by Dante Alighieri, and devilishly Mothership in how it plays and feels. Each adventure can be used individually or woven into a campaign with an overarching metaplot. There is also a general section fleshing out this particular universe, with details on the corporations involved and how they play into these adventures set across different places and times. We currently have 3 guest writers and 8 confirmed illustrators, with more to be announced as the project unfolds.

I'd love to invite you to follow the teaser page to stay in the know: 9 Circles teaser page.

This is it for today's update. Once again, I am so grateful for the feedback received so far, and to be able to write stories that people play all around the world and feel invested in, as much as I am when creating them.

Project Update: WHITE HEAT: Stretch Goal: More Art!

Hi all

During the campaign, we unlocked some more art as one of the stretch goals, and I'm exicted to share it with you!

Our artist, Strega Wolf van den Berg, has depicted the Gavaging Station, one of the Kitchen rooms. For those who've never tried foie gras, gavaging is the process of force-feeding or delivering liquid nutrients directly into the stomach using a flexible tube. Usually this is performed on geese. Our restaurant's taken it a step further.

We've also got a lot of the module finalised in layout now. I've included a couple spreads along with the new art piece (Kitchens in white, Below Kitchens in black).

I'll be getting the remainder of the content to Strega for layout in the next week or so, and pretty soon after that we'll be off to the printers.

Hope you enjoy the new piece!

Gilbert
