I'm a game designer and writer from Michigan.  I teach as part of the Center for Learning through Games and Simulations at Central Michigan University, and I have the good fortune to play with a gaming group that includes the prime movers behind Superhero Necromancer games.  I've published a number of short stories in the horror and dark fantasy genres, and I've contributed material to the Rainy City campaign setting, writing entries for both Beasts of the Outer Swells and The Restless Dead. My gaming background began with the Dungeons and Dragons Basic Set back in high school, not long after the continents drifted apart.  Since then I've played through campaigns with about 20 different rule sets and a variety of flavors. Lately we've been playing Traveller 2022, Forbidden Lands, and some homebrew 5e. When I'm not gaming I'm often...gaming.  The Soulsbourne genre is my jam, though I'll often play cozy farming or building games with my fiancee.  I haven't entirely given up on Destiny 2 yet, but the Final Shape campaign is going to have to wow the player base before I'll sign back in.  Otherwise it will be Lies of P, Baldur's Gate 3, and Shadow of the Erdtree for me.  When I'm not gaming I'm writing; I'm currently shopping around a novella and a novel.  I have a side hustle as an NGH-certified hypnotist, and I squeeze in old-school horror movies whenever I can. Chancers captures the intersection of a number of influences and represents the culmination of several design experiments, combining their best-loved features as well as the input and feedback of novice and experienced gamers alike.

Printed on 2000 by Heraclio Fournier (One of the most famous playing cards companies). The Macondo Tarot was inspired by the characters and world of Gabriel García Márquez was created from research into the symbolism of classical European arcana and related it, in a novel way, to myths, legends, and traditions of Colombian and Latin American culture.

Hey! I'm Matt Taylor, the author of The Vault of Kings series. I'm a regular dude from Idaho that loves to read, watch movies/anime, play video games, fish, hike, play sports... Kind of everything to be honest! I set out to write The Vault of Kings at a time in my life when I felt pretty down about myself. I wasn't sure where my life was going. I didn't know what my talents were. I felt like I had no 'calling' in life. Through several spiritual experiences that are personal to me, I believe that I have found my calling. Whether or not I ever become successful no longer matters to me. What matters is that I am writing the story that is mine.  I believe that I have discovered a talent that was hidden deep down within, one that I would have never guessed I had in me. I have a community in little 'old Idaho that feels the same as well, and wants me to try and share my stories with the rest of the world. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I did writing. I think it's something pretty special. For those who are struggling with deep emotions within yourself, I'd just give this one piece of advice: Whatever you think you can't do. Do it. You might surprise yourself.
