Hounds & Jackals was launched to explore the use of tabletop board games and the magical arts to:  - Raise awareness of mental health issues in society  - Meld modern and historical elements into experiential learning to promote reflection on the human condition  - Engage the imagination through immersive themes and settings  - Balance the age of the digital by providing engaging social experiences on and off-screen.  Of course, first and foremost, any Hounds & Jackals offering must provide an innovative and entertaining experience for participants! The above goals would always be blended for subtle learning and reflection, while having fun! Attention to detail is a core value of any Hounds & Jackals product. This is in reference to content as well as style.

I’m Desmond Blackstone, founder of The Blackstone Bureau and designer behind many projects for HeartBeatDice, Extra Life, and HD Dice. I’ve worked with a wide range of manufacturers in China, often traveling to Shenzhen to collaborate directly on new designs. Hello everyone! I'm Skylier and welcome to my corner of crowd funding. I've been working with a team of artists to bring to life an idea for comic book that I have called "Shark with a Shotgun". Up until now, I've been financing the artwork based on the script I wrote and am now hoping to finish out the required funds and advertise the, hopefully, soon first issue. I keep the project page updated and plan to release more information and promotion material for this original idea. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Hello! I'm Julie - a Toronto-based artist turning my digital creations into tangible goodies! ✨

Hi! I'm Vanessa Perry, a dark fiction author. I write fantasy and horror, and it's safe to assume I will eventually dabble in sci-fi. I’m a later-in-life undergrad student majoring in English and plan to pursue my Master's in Creative Writing & Literature after. I am obsessed with studying literary theory and proving that the modern English student loves genre fiction and that it's worthy of academic study! I love folklore (especially folk religion) and, while I am reluctant to call myself such, I am indeed a folklorist by definition. More than all the things, I absolutely love books. I always have a book I’m reading nearby! My debut fantasy novel, "In Roaring She Shall Rise" will release in Fall 2025.

Gretchen(also known by the shorter moniker of Gren) resides in Indiana with their cat, Towan. They can often be found scribbling away in their studio, surrounded by cat toys and empty bottles of Snapple. Some of their other hobbies include writing, reading, and as of right now, fountain pens. Gren explores many themes in their work. At the same time that Gren paints silly little creatures like opossums and raccoons, they also explore what it means to be human, what it means to have a body that constantly betrays you (see the Body Betrayal Collection), and how being marginalized can irrevocably influence someone as a person. Gren enjoys working with metaphors and fantasy, combining what isn’t with what is, what might be with what already has been.

I've been a creator in the Computer Games industry for 18 years, and have shipped dozens of games and hundreds of updates.  Now I'm returning to my first gaming love, Table Top War Gaming.  Table Top War Gaming taught me the basics of game design, started my career and made me life long friendships. At Aged Dice we wanted to share the joy of this amazing hobby with as many people as possible so we've begun a journey to make TTWG much more affordable, accessible and sustainable while crafting games with rich, detailed, exciting settings with compelling and competitive rules! Mostly we just love making games!

3D2U.org is a husband and wife owned business that uses a mixture of woodworking, laser engraving, 3D printing, and other art tools to lovingly make wondrous items for you and your adventuring party. We enjoy making new nerdy creations, whether by our own design or by working with other small businesses to license designs. Ami and Jesse work hard to lovingly source, design, and build every item that they sell hoping that others will love them just as much as they do. Their two dogs, cat, and chickens often supervise their creative process and help remind them to take the appropriate break times for scritches and snacks.  3D2U.org has sold our crafts at various conventions and renaissance fairies over the past three years. These locations include the following: The New Jersey Renaissance Faire, the Delaware Renaissance Faire, Smithville Renaissance Faire, Wheaton Arts Fantasy Faire, Level Up Winter Retreat, Too Many Games Expo, and Contropolis NJ. We will also be visiting the Bucks Renaissance Faire, the Sparta Renaissance Faire, the New Lakewood Renaissance faire this year as well as revisiting the Delaware Renaissance Faire this fall!

Allan Dotson has been drawing monsters his whole life. An avid fan of all kinds of comics, science fiction, fantasy, and role-playing games, Allan often wondered about the secret lives of monsters. What would an evil monster's childhood be like? What would life be like for monsters in the dungeon when the adventurers are not around? Where do evil wizards get all those captive monsters to guard their towers and dungeons? Allan started by imagining train delivering baby monsters to a wizards' market, but once Eddy and his friends got loose, they started to take on lives of their own, and Critters was born. Allan Dotson was born in Regina. He has traveled the world as a documentary assistant director, and worked as a video game tester. He earned his BA in Art and English from the University of Lethbridge, and an Arts Education degree from the University of Regina. He was a founding member of Regina's Valuable Comics collective (2006-2014), and as a game designer has self-published 10 role-playing games. He has created board games, festival wide games, video game art, animation, murals, giant puppets, and a sitcom pilot, but his first love is comics. Allan's artwork is held in the permanent collections of the City of Regina, Saskatchewan Legislative Building, SK Arts, and Regina Public School Board.  In his secret identity, Allan teaches art and science for an alternative elementary school. When he is not teaching, drawing, or reading comics, he enjoys climbing things and playing Dungeons & Dragons. Allan's comics and games are online at maycontainmonkeys.com.

Hi there!  My name is Hapybaka.  I am interested in arts and technology, especially in how to use technologies to make better art.  This includes 3D modeling (and 3D in general), programming (javascript and python), 3D printing and pretty much anything else I have enough time to learn. I always wanted to create my own products and crowdfunding is the most appropriate way of making them known to a larger audience. I am constantly learning new things and am very open to suggestions, questions and any other discussions, so don't be shy and feel free to write if you want to have a chat. Thank you for your interest, and have a good day! - Hapybaka

talented multi-medium artist + humble

I write under the name Mara Solace to protect my privacy and honor the emotional safety of my children. My work centers on healing, motherhood, and reclaiming identity after emotional harm.  For years, I lived in silence, carrying stories that were too heavy to speak aloud. Writing became the way I found myself again. It became a doorway back to truth.  I don’t write to retell trauma. I write to illuminate what comes after. The rebuilding. The returning. The quiet strength that grows in the aftermath.
