In the end we unlocked two regions for the travel guidebook: The Old Kingdom and The Dark Forest. Every backer will get a digital file with those regions, which will have some juicy new lore details.
Here's what's coming up:
-Daryl is finishing up the last pages of this issue. It's 50 pages long - that's no joke! I expect he will be wrapping up sometime this month.
-Once the art is done, Dave will finish lettering the comic (he has already lettered the first 24 pages). Then we will get the digital files and print files ready to ship off.
-Meanwhile, I'll be working on the travel guidebook chapters, which will include two new maps in addition to the world map, illustrated by Dave Swartz.
-I will be working on the pledge manager, which will go out around the time we have the digital comics ready.
-Once order numbers are confirmed and all the files are ready, I'll send the files to the printer. Printing for this project is somewhat complicated, as between stickers, trading cards, collector boxes, standard editions, and the Collector Edition, I'll actually be ordering from four different printers.
-Once all the rewards have arrived, I'll coordinate with my shipping team (that's me and two people who help me out on weekends sometimes) to get the packages out as quickly as possible! Currently I'm hoping for a December fulfilment, but that's pretty optimistic - it might be more like January.
Here's the last bit of news - this is not the end for Edward and pals. This is the last issue of Unicorn: Vampire Hunter, but the story will eventually live on. We will be doing a collected edition of Volume 2 next year, and we have other plans as well. Stay tuned - and thanks as always for your support.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to mention where we were in the process of fulfillment. The physical books are in production right now!
Once Backerkit distributes funds, digital rewards will go out (all except for audiobooks 2&3 as those are both in recording and will fulfill around springtime). Paperback volumes should go out mid november as they are produced domestically. My goal is to have the hardcovers delivered by the end of december (provided holiday shipping isn't too terrible).
Hi! This is to let you know that surveys are going out for The Shard of Elan, and it's time to help me send your backer rewards.
First, the sorta-bad news: I spoke with my printer, and production is a little behind. Not a lot, but combined with the necessary weeks of shipping, we're now looking at an early December delivery date to me.
Better news: By my current calculations, I should still have time to turn around and ship promptly for gifting. If that starts to look sketchy, I will provide a pretty printable card to tell your recipient what's coming, so you still get full credit for being awesome.
Good news: This actually opens up the survey window a little, as I don't have to have all the labels and packages ready to go as quickly.
So here are the deadlines:
If you requested the special edition set without the premium slipcase upgrade, your survey must be submitted by Dec 1 for December shipping. This is so I can get everything ready to ship immediately upon arrival.
If you requested (or want to add) the premium slipcase upgrade (because it's gorgeous), your survey must be submitted by November 7. These are individually made to order and require some time.
If you requested the standard paperbacks or other items, but not the special editions, please submit your survey by Oct 31 for shipment in early November.
If your survey comes in after those dates, your rewards are still good! but they will ship later. Your items will ship in mid or late December, or when your survey is completed.

If you already have a Bookfunnel account, be sure to use that email address where asked in the survey. If not, don't worry, I pay for it so there's no charge to you. :) Your ebooks delivered via Bookfunnel can be read in the Bookfunnel app on your phone or tablet, or shared to another device (Nook, Kindle, etc.).
We've closed the pledge manager - THANK YOU to everyone who was able to fill it out by last week!
After talking with multiple printing companies, it looks like the best option for us is Qin Printing out of China. We had a few choices but given all the customizations we want to do with dust covers, ribbons, and UV spot printing, they are the most flexible company to work with. I'm trying to get the books printed and shipped to us before Lunar New year which according to Qin Printing seems like an attainable goal.
I'm working with Qin now to finalize the print files and send them over for review. After that's finalized, I'll derive the digital file and you'll get an update about digital distribution.
Once the book files are finalized I'll move on to getting the smaller prints done for those of you who pledged for the style-shift add on, early backer rewards, collaborative campaign rewards, and Artist All-in rewards.
James is almost finished with the Daedalus engine blueprint for those of you who ordered that add-on, which is looking incredible. Once he's done with that he'll move on to the art for those of you who backed the Artist All-in tier.

This week I'm going to polish off the manuscript and get it ready for audio recording, and next week: Jacob and myself are going to be doing the soundbooth!
Then it's off to production mode!
We won't be unleashing the pledge Survey's for a good while (we really want to wait until the book is post typeset for that and the audio production is fully done).
Once we are past that hurdle - the pledge surveys will go out and we will move into shipping pretty much right away! (This is a boon for those of you who move around).

The initial wave of funds has hit my account and I'm making headway on the rewrites. Surveys and pledge manager will be finished up soon, addresses will be locked right before I begin shipping. Here's a quick timeline (it'll be updated as progress continues!):

If you backed the add-on for updates about my new book, those will begin once this book is complete. If you missed that add-on, you'll have the chance to add it to your pledge via the pledge manager once surveys go out.
I'm mulling over some changes to the draft I have in progress for that book, it's set to low on the back burner right now. The Searing Sentinel has been a tough one to get across the finish line and I'm still knee-deep in this mega-rewrite. Planning to do more prep work on books before starting them so I don't have something like this again, because OOF.
