First, the good news: the final page was finished today! This was one of two pages featuring some of you who will appear in the book as zombies. I took the opportunity to draw outside, enjoying a sunny and warm autumn day in my backyard. I quickly scanned the page, added some Zip-A-Tone effects, incorporated it into the final print-ready file, and submitted the whole thing to my local printer.
From this point on, it’ll be a bit of back-and-forth with the printer, but we might even have everything ready to ship sooner than expected!
The next great bit of news is that we've received the last of the survey responses, so everyone is now accounted for and ready to go! We've also received some pre-order pledges. Many thanks to everyone who jumped on board!
And finally, our other crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, Green House of Doom, is coming along nicely, but we still need more pledges to reach our goal!
This book is put together by our friends who brought you the original House of Doom, followed by Coffee House of Doom. This latest entry in the series also features a full-color story by yours truly, and you can even get an alternate cover illustrated by me through the campaign.
So many amazing things are in the works and I'm long overdue for an update.
Surveys
Surveys will go out either end of this month or early in November. Unfortunately, some of the options for the add-ons are having to be put in by hand and that's taking me a hot minute. Be sure when you receive your survey, you finish all of the required steps. There are some additional steps at the end that tripped some folks up last campaign and their orders were delayed as a result.
Book 2
Book 2 should be back from its amazing editor here at the end of next week! Then, I get to go in, do the fixes/improvements. I'll send parts back to them to make sure I didn't booger anything up, and then it should be off to print by early December.
Book 1
The second edition paperback officially went off to the printer today. I'll get the hardcopy proof in the next ten days to ensure everything is all good and then it should go into production, with delivery before the end of the year. My formatter has chosen violence lately, so I'm planning to take some quality time with the proof before approving the run.
Audiobook
Nearly all voice actors are confirmed. I'm waiting on some hardware upgrades for my studio and then this adventure will officially start. The audiobook is going to be wild, you guys--a fully immersive experience with the soundtrack and everything. When will it come out? I'm honestly not sure yet as there are so many moving parts. I'm hoping shortly after Book 2 releases, though!
OST 2
I have two more pieces to compose for sure for the Volume Plateau soundtrack. Just like the audiobook, I'm waiting on some new pieces of hardware for the studio before I can really get back to work on it.

With my profuse thanks for your support, this campaign is complete and we are heading into the fulfillment phase. In this update: surveys incoming, production timeline, and a sneek-peak...
Surveys: we've set up your surveys behind-the-scenes and they're just about ready to go out. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information and payment, and purchase add-on items if you like. After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts. Any problems, please reach out.
Production timeline: we're taking a bit longer to finalise the hardback for the best of reasons: we unlocked art goals! The chapter art is in progress and we have a booking with our amazing cover designer, Just Venture Arts, to create a matching endpaper design in November. At present, we're still expecting to start sending out hardbacks in January as planned - and other rewards before then- but if that changes I'll let you know.
I also got the first proof of the hardback edition this week, with the title typography picked out in glorious iridescent foil. Here's a peek:

In the meantime, I'm currently working on the pages featuring the backers who opted to appear in the comic. It's always fun finding ways to throw people into the middle of a zombie-infested nightmare! Once those pages are wrapped up, we'll be ready for the next big step.

This is the first crowdfunding campaign I've run solo, and it's been a lot to get my head around. Seeing it succeed has meant the world, and it's all thanks to backers like you.
What's Next? We're in the home stretch now, so I wanted to give a summary of where the books are at, and what you can expect next.
The short stories are going to an editor, and then I can begin laying them out for print and e-books.
We hit the Spot UV goal, but, depending on printing quotes and based on community feedback, that target might be better shift to make the books perfect bound (with a spine, classic novel style) instead of staple bound zine-style books.
The Termination Notices novel is at the printers, all edited and ready to come to life. Nearly there!
After the campaign ends, you will be charged by Backerkit. They hold that money for a while, giving me time to set up a pledge manager. Through the pledge manager, you'll be asked for your shipping address, and you'll get one last chance to alter your pledge. There might also be a limited opportunity for late pledges, for anyone who hasn't been able to back during the campaign. I'll talk more about the pledge manager in an update post-campaign, so keep your eyes peeled.
Shipping and taxes will be determined post-campaign, based around the estimates from Critical Kit. Can't thank them enough for all their support on this one. Speaking of...
The Cross Colab with Critical Kit was a huge success, putting us regularly at #1 in the Horror cross collab, and seeing us hit the peek of #3 across the whole of Printopia. Amazing!
