Project Update: 🐁 Is your name correct? Please check here! ✍️ [Action required]

Hello Rolling Coast backers,

This post contains important action required for everyone who backed Rolling Coast at any of these levels: VIP Explorer, Lifetime Explorer, and All-Access Explorer.

One of the benefits for backers in those tiers is that they will be thanked in the finished book. By default, this will use the name from your BackerKit profile, but if you want it to be displayed differently in the book, please let us know below!

👉 Here are the names exported directly from BackerKit and added to the book - they are displayed in the order they were exported. If you want to change your name as it is displayed, please comment on this post.

The list of backer names being thanked in the Rolling Coast book.

  • If your name looks correct: no action needed.

  • If you’d like something changed (spelling, capitalisation, or anything else), comment below with your changes.

  • If you’d prefer not to have your name in the book at all, that’s totally fine - please comment below to say so.

  • If your name isn't there, and you backed the project at the VIP Explorer, Lifetime Explorer, or All-Access Explorer level, please comment below to let us know.

If we don't hear from you, we'll assume your name is correct and use it as displayed. If you need any changes made, please comment as soon as possible.

Thank you!

See you at the game table,
Matt & Hugh

I wanted to show off some of the sticker illustrations for Mechritter in more detail. My favourite is the Park Trash one because I love the little water bottle helmet. Which one is yours? Don't forget anyone who backs the project at any physical tier gets access to all the sticker sets we produce!

Project Update: Heads Up About Digital Files

Hi everyone,
The digital files are finished.
Digital fulfillment is expected to begin during the week of September 7th, handled by Games Omnivorous and Exalted Funeral, the same partners already managing physical fulfillment. You'll receive your digital rewards through them once that starts.
Physical rewards remain in production; I'll share another update as soon as I have news on the print run.
Thanks again for your support!

Project Update: Getcher update!

Hello all! Not much to report for now, but here's a quick state of the union. It's looking like an early next year fulfillment for the projects in the group shipping, so there's little to do but wait. Projects are in differing stages of completion, some have begun trickling into the hands of our fulfillment partners, others going into print. Starting next month, I'll be getting in touch with the printers for help in setting the files ready for production and expect things to pick up steam from there. I will keep you posted!

In other news, I have another project coming out. Quite a different one from Soul Food I guess! It's called Hellward Unto the Breach and you can hear my esteemed editor and publisher Jert chat about it on the internet's pre-eminent not cat-related chat show.

Well, that's it for now! Stay cool, people.

Project Update: Progress on Mechritter (Nearly ready!)

Hi all,

Just an update on the progress of Mechritter.

We’re in the final stages of putting the book together and going to layout. We have test versions of our sticker character sheets and found a new printer who could do them at a better quality, so the stickers should be more reusable.

It’s looking like the book is going to be more than 80 pages… maybe like 200. We’re hoping to cut a bit of that weight and maybe put some of it into a zine, but we will have to see. It definitely looks like you’ll be getting great value for money from this kickstarter either way.

Please enjoy some of the art whilst I go into more detail below.

Spilt T

So why’s the book so long?

After many rounds of playtesting, we actually adjusted the Mausritter rules a lot more than we initially intended. We were very committed to making it a game suitable for family play, so we had to make a more simplified ruleset for ages 5-11 (plus just anyone that prefers freeform roleplaying) that could be played alongside the regular rules.

We also wanted to make mech combat feel exciting and have a back-and-forth. While combat outside mechs is still very lethal, this isn’t the case within mechs, instead, mech pieces get destroyed in a few good hits. So it still has that high cost to combat but in a very different way. To produce that feeling of a swingy, aggressive mech battle we’ve overhauled initiative and changed elements of the combat system.

At that point, we figured the game was far enough away from Mausritter that we may as well update and reprint the entire SRD, and so we did that, in the process making changes to the information design of the game to make it a slightly more accessible play experience.

Then, of course, for an urban setting the inventory items, creatures, languages and character creation needed to be updated.

Then we have the world of the High Street itself. Kayla has written over 160 pages of setting including new rules for overland travel and six different adventure sites. The High Street itself is extremely full of life. Again, it’s based on a real high street in London, and we wanted to do it justice.

To keep the book from becoming a rulesfest, we have a huge amount of art by Gustavo Foletto and short fiction to break up each chapter.

Skate Park

Basically, the book is going to be way more than you paid for, but the price of that is a couple of months’ delay….

I won’t lie, I don’t see a world in which we go to print this month, but we’ve set a target to print at the end of September for an October fulfillment. This won’t be affected by the Junk City fulfillment as we are not on the big pledge manager with everyone else; we opted out of it as we felt our project would be too complex for what they were looking for.

Thanks so much for bearing with us,

Laurie

Project Update: Tales from Pwyll has arrived! (Digitally)

Hey folks! Josiah here, Tales from Pwyll is finished and I have some digital files ready for you to download. Thanks so much for your patience and support! Scroll down to the "Backer Exclusive Content" for the links.

This project is part of the Mausritter Month group shipping which is projected to go out in September or October. If you have any questions about that you can ask them in the Mausritter discord server or email me and I’ll do my best to relay info.

If you are curious why the ‘Tales from Pwyll’ pamphlet is bi-fold instead of tri-fold, I had to shrink it down a page so that I could include an extra sheet of item and condition cards without exceeding weight limits for shipping. The content is mostly the same, its only missing a table that I’ll find a way to release for free (probably on my itch.io page).

I have a few RPG projects in the works that I hope to put out soon. One is a murder mystery for Mothership where you are tasked with investigating the deaths of 10 crew members aboard a gravity research station that feeds on your memories. I also am working on a nautical horror adventure for Pirate Borg and/or Dreadnauts. I plan on revisiting Pwyll one day too. Thanks again for supporting my creative endeavours :)

If you have questions, comments or concerns feel free to email me at josiahmooreart (at) gmail (dot) com

Best,
- Josiah

Project Update: August update: the books are printed!

Last week, Mausolympics copies arrived at Games Omnivorous headquarters. This is great news, but there's still a long journey up until having it in your hands. From there, it will be delivered to the rest of the world along with the rest of the Mausritter Month's projects.

The book looks great, although I haven't seen it for myself yet. A handful of them are on the way to me, and I'll show it in next month's update for sure.

Further development

I'll resume the development in September as I'm now working on another delayed TTRPG project. So no progress was made on the digital version, nor the VTTs.

Hey, I just saw that Tiny Fables is out of print on Games Omnivorous' website. Is there any way we can get this zine in Europe? Thanks!

Project Update: Digital Files Incoming, Physical at the Printer

Hi everyone,
Here's an update on where things stand — it's been a while since the last one.

Digital files: In the final stretch now; finishing internal linking across the PDFs and setting up the delivery system. Expecting this to be ready in about 10 days.

Physical rewards: Everything has been sent to the printer, and I'm waiting on the initial print proof to come back before the full run. Reminder: fulfillment and shipping for the physical bundle is handled by Exalted Funeral and Games Omnivorous, more info about timeline in the Group Shipping Timeline section.

I'll post again as soon as digital distribution is live, and when print is ready. Thanks for your support!
