Despite being born decades later, Gen Z influencers and everyday young people are immersing themselves in the vibrant fashion, infectious music, and distinctive lifestyle of the 80s. This cultural revival has sparked a phenomenon that not only captivates but also unites different age groups. Through intimate personal stories, expert insights, and historical context, the film delves deep into why the 80s continue to exert such a profound influence on contemporary society.

If we can reach nearly double our initial goal, we've got a secret piece of merch that will unlock for purchase! It's something sure to delight your inner child, but it will cost some money to produce (hence only unlocking at this goal). Any and all profits from the sale of this secret product will go directly back into making 80s Babies the best film it can be!
Making a film is EXPENSIVE! If we reach slightly triple our initial goal, we're going to have the means to interview more people and include more music on our soundtrack. The extra funding will allow us to travel to additional areas of the country for interviews as well as cover the licensing fees for more music! Let's make the film and soundtrack extra special!!
Please note: All dates in this section are estimates and subject to change due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, production issues, manufacturing holdups or the like. Therefore, please take the following information solely as reference of our expected timeline.
Winter 2024 - Fundraising campaign through Backerkit.
Early Winter 2025 - Continued pre-production and additional fundraising if required.
Spring - Summer 2025 - Filming will occur during this period.
Summer - Fall 2025 - Editing and post production work will take place during this time.
Fall 2025 - 80s Babies official premiere and after party. Pledge/Add On Rewards manufactured.
Winter 2025 - 2026 - Pledge/Add On Rewards begin shipping.
Should any of the above timeline entries change along the way, we will be sure to keep you all updated! This is a journey we are taking together and we plan to keep you in the loop with email correspondence.
For this campaign, we will be trying out Backerkit's Pay Over Time beta feature! If your pledge is over $150, after you select a pledge and go to Checkout, you'll be given the option to pay 4 equal interest-free monthly installments of your pledge total over the course of 4 months.
If you select Pay Over Time, you acknowledge that:

Shipping fees are not included with your pledge and will be charged closer to fulfillment using BackerKit's pledge manager. This will allow us to charge accurate fees at the time of fulfillment. After the campaign, we'll send you a survey to collect your shipping address and you'll be charged according to your location and the weight/size of your order. We'll do our best to keep shipping fees as reasonable as possible.
Unfortunately, we only have the capability for shipping physical pledge rewards to the United States, US Minor Outlying Islands, and Canada.
Although we have commitments from many of our film's subjects, scheduling conflicts or last-minute cancellations could alter our timeline.
Film production timelines can be affected by unexpected weather or other "acts of God."
Unforeseen delays or hiccups in the production of our physical items could also impact the date in which we deliver your rewards.
If anything should arise that were to affect/alter our projected timeline, we will be sure to notify you immediately via Backerkit updates (these will also be emailed to you). We intend to keep you in the loop on the production every step of the way!
