Now the not-so-fun-bit: US Tariffs. 🥲
I'm really sorry folks but in my research I've not come up with a way to get around the tariff fees. The good news is that I now know exactly how much it's going to be: 10% of the order value. (There is a handling fee of £0.50 per parcel as well and I'm going to cover that part myself.)
- Unfortunately I can't currently afford to cover 10% of all the US orders myself so I've been in touch with Backerkit and they've arranged it so that I will charge that 10% through the Backerkit campaign. I'm really sorry that I have to do this! 🙁
- I have set the card-charge date for the 3rd of November so that you all have a bit of an advance warning, and you can check your pledge to see how much the charge is for your personal order.
- Please do message me if you have any questions!
- Future campaigns: In future I will be including the tariff charges for each order at the survey stage to be charged at the same time as Shipping costs, and I will make it clear in the campaign story how much the charge is going to be so that nobody is caught by surprise.
I hope you can understand why I've had to do this and will stick with me in the future! 🙏 Pin prices in Backerkit campaigns will remain lower than in my Etsy shop, where I've had to add a premium to US orders for now to cover all the fees.
Pin production is running somewhat behind schedule but I'm hoping I'll still be able to ship in early November.
