Set a Reminder:

From award-winning writer and RPG designer Adam Holloway, here are three tales of terror to keep you up at night – or planning your own career as a serial slasher / artist.

A Dying Art: A retired slasher tries to cement his legacy by finding a new apprentice with an artistic gift.
A Dying Art
is a story about our passions, the things that give our lives meaning – even if those things involving killing, maiming, and dressing up the resulting corpses as art pieces. Inspired by a lifetime of watching slasher movies, video nasties, and a life spent suffering for "the art".

Music of Les Mystères: A cultural legacy is a lot to bare, but when someone wants to steal and warp it for their own murderous, power hungry means, you need to turn to the darker side.
Music of Les Mystères's
transports the reader to the life of a young woman trying to come to terms with the misinterpretation of her culture and history – something she barely understands herself, while avoiding the wrath of a malicious serial killer. Inspired by the exploitation of Haitian Vodou in 20th century cinema, this is a story that seeks to turn the tables with thrills, chills, and a powerful universal message.

Also available by the kind permission of Parable Games, publishers of the SHIVER Roleplaying Game:
Termination Notice: A full length novel of Corporate Horror Comedy
Deep in an underground research facility, the lowest ranking members of the company's employee "family" are going to hell and back to prove their worth (and hopefully finally earn a wage slip) by retrieving a rogue and very dangerous escaped company "asset".

When a mysterious (and possibly insane) scientist, a HR employee with dreams of world domination, and an external "Crisis Manager" all have their own career goals in mind, corporate life can get a little more deadly than anticipated.

Set in the world of the award-winning SHIVER RPG, Termination Notice is a story that rages against the capitalist hell we find ourselves living in – with added science fiction and gore to boot.

Two short stories and a full-length novel available in print and digital with cover artwork by the amazing Ben Alexander, original prints, and a bonus e-book short: The Sex Lives of the Spider People available for a limited time only!

Who Is the Author?
Adam is secretly a bunch of rabbits stuffed into a skin suit. Anxiety is his middle name, and he spends a good portion of each and every day thinking about all the ways he could die.

He writes for and builds the worlds for RPGs like SHIVER, Sisterhood, ION Heart: Remembrance, and the Grim Gazette (all through Parable Games). Don't talk to him about Scream, a Nightmare on Elm Street, or Watership Down, because you'll be there all day.

An award-winner writer and RPG designer who hates discussing himself – especially in the third person.

All work here was written by Adam Holloway, with artwork provided by the wonderful Ben Alexander

Book Cover Reveal and Story Samples Released!
"It was beautiful – a little crude, but breathtaking all the same. Kane had gone through a phase of impalement in the nineties, when the idea of new and exciting tools and methods of death inspired him. This particular posing of the victim, with the pooling of blood directed to an engraved spiral beneath the corpse, was a mirror image of his first attempt at the art-form. He was lost for words."
A Dying Art

I hope everyone is having a day – now I'm either going to spoil it (or make it better) with some added horror.

PDF samples have been uploaded to Backerkit for both short stories and the novel. All you have to do is Follow the campaign, and you should be able to access them one of two ways:
  1. Through the "Your Digital Rewards" section of your Backerkit account (clicking here).
  2. Going through the main campaign page and clicking the link at he top in green text that reads "You are following this project. We emailed your rewards — view them in your account." (clicking here).
Please note that while it does say it's been emailed to you, it doesn't look like Backerkit's actually done that. Super helpful! Using the links above should fix that, though.

Cover Reveal
Ben's art has always really captivated me on all the projects we've worked together on. I'm really excited to be able to show off what he's working on for one of the book covers here. He's opted for a style closer to painting brush strokes than heavy line work, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the results.

Not long to go now, so please keep sharing the campaign with anyone who might enjoy it – and thank you again for all your support so far!
