INTRODUCTION
The Al-Kahriss system sits at the edge of civilized space, beyond the shadow of a region known as the Dead Scar. Once a collection of quiet agricultural worlds, Al-Kahriss was transformed by the discovery of vast reserves of "blink fuel", a substance capable of facilitating FTL travel, becoming one of the frontier's most important sources of interstellar transit resources.
Now something is wrong.
Shipments vanish without explanation. Raiders strike with impossible precision. Cargo manifests don't match recorded deliveries. Whispers spread through the trade lanes of ghost ships, missing freighters, and routes that seem to exist outside official charts.
The Baroness of the Eight-Fold Wind has a problem. Her allies are demanding answers. Her rivals smell weakness. And the future of her entire system hangs in the balance.
Enter the pilots.
In Ghosts Beyond the Scar, players take on the role of independent Lancers tasked with uncovering the truth behind the disappearances. Their investigation will carry them from the idyllic estates and wind-swept farmlands of Vael to the crowded transit hubs of Mirr and the industrial depths of Kharon, where the system's wealth is torn from the ground and refined into the fuel that powers humanity's expansion across the stars.
What begins as a hunt for pirates soon reveals a far deeper conspiracy. Hidden networks move unseen beneath legitimate commerce. Powerful interests manipulate events from the shadows. And somewhere within the vast machinery of the system, something is making plans for a future no one else can see.
Ghosts Beyond the Scar is a campaign of investigation, political intrigue, industrial espionage, and mech combat set against the backdrop of a frontier system struggling to hold itself together. Featuring branching mission paths, meaningful player choices, optional operations, and a mystery that unfolds across five acts, it offers a complete Lancer experience that challenges pilots both on and off the battlefield.

WHO AM I?
Hi, I'm Benjamin Palmer.
I've been a tabletop roleplaying game enthusiast for more than two decades, spending countless hours as both a player and Game Master across a wide variety of systems. Over the years I've run long-form campaigns, convention games, one-shots, and homebrew settings, developing a deep appreciation for the stories that emerge when great players are given meaningful choices and memorable challenges.
Like many Game Masters, I started creating my own content because I couldn't stop imagining new worlds, adventures, and encounters. What began as notes shared around a gaming table grew into a passion for game design, adventure writing, and worldbuilding.
Ghosts Beyond the Scar combines many of the things I love most about roleplaying games: mystery, political intrigue, difficult decisions, memorable characters, and tactical combat with meaningful consequences. It's a campaign designed to give players the freedom to investigate, choose their own priorities, and shape the future of the setting through their actions.
Every encounter, NPC, location, and map in this project was created with the goal of making life easier for Game Masters while providing players with exciting and memorable sessions.
