Project Update: Update: Pins are Here | Surveys Incoming | ...Some Crazy Background Info

Hi all! This update is a hugely long time coming, as so much has happened in the last year (I’ll get into it in a minute). The biggest news, of course, is that the pins arrived a few months back. Unfortunately it was right at the start of what we know as con summer, and it was a surprise delivery, so there hasn’t been much time to process these (I was home most of the time about a day a week for the entire summer)… but it is now on the immediate docket of things to handle.

I did mean to get this update out before NYCC (which was a stupid plan considering the amount of work that goes into that show), then planned on posting it the day after coming back (even posted some stories of the pins on instagram while at the show, as I know some of you saw), but I was involved in a really bad wreck coming back home which totaled my car and left me pretty shaken. (I am ok, the car is not, we’re working on it)

Here are some photos - excuse the poor lighting! As previously mentioned, I did end up doing two colorways which are actually fundamentally different. The gold has the original cutouts, but the silver was something that was made due to an initial flaw that I also paid for new molds for – it has sandblast instead of the stained glass, and I made it silver instead to make it clearly different.

Gold version - in the manufacturer disappearance (explained in details), some things were never 100% fixed, but they were ultimately small issues.
The 3 pins all sit together! You can see the backstamps here with the LE notation.
This is the silver variant with the varying colors of sandblast!

That all said, the immediate goal here is to get the surveys out, as we finally now have estimates after all this time. I really do appreciate your patience considering everything that has happened. This (and the dragons that were tied to them) has perhaps the worst experience with a manufacturer that I will ever and have ever had.

I am aiming to get surveys out in the next week to 1) collect addresses, 2) get a firm count of extras, and 3) finalize processing of pins in the colorways you want. I definitely do not intend on ever remaking these pins, so they are firmly the LEs stamped on the back.
