What happens when you lose everything?

Grief is a strange and powerful thing. It can be a whisper; soft, glancing across the surface of your mind as if skimming across the surface of a still pond in the dead of night. It can be a roar; something eating you apart, breaking you into crumbling fractions of yourself. As you disintegrate and fall apart, the pieces are so small and dry and fragile that you cannot begin to fathom how to piece them back together.

Have you ever felt like this? The non-linear devastation that grief brings? The quiet crackling while trying to keep up with life?

Nothing slows down, even when everything feels like too much. Grief is a void where there was once something, and the phantom pain that comes with it.

Such Sweet Sorrow is a love letter to the people who have dealt with tragedy and come out on the other side— different, but dealing. It's for the people who know that sometimes the dark is a comfort, and true monstrosity comes other sources.

Such Sweet Sorrow is a grief horror and gothic mystery that tugs at your heartstrings and navigates the free-fall exhaustion and numbness that loss provides. The story follows Rebecca Sinclaire, a 27 year old woman that is studying for her Master's in Art History at the University of Chicago. Rebecca's parents die in a crash that leaves her devastated. She was the executor of their wills, and she decides to move from Chicago to Upstate New York to handle their affairs.

The Sinclaire Estate is an old vacation home that's been in her house for centuries. She thought it would be comforting, but the house feels... Different. Something is off. Not to mention, her aunt doesn't take too kindly to being left out of their will, and fully intends to fight it...

Will Rebecca be able to navigate the loss of her parents, the sudden transplant into a new community, the strange happenings in her house, and the tension in her familial ties?

SUCH SWEET SORROW will be available in e-book, paperback, and hardcover in Summer 2027!
