Project Update: New Content in Progress - Additional Lore Handouts Drafted
Thank you to everyone who has already filled in your surveys. We’ve gotten a substantial number of responses and some wonderful name suggestions for the book already! I was so inspired by the pet names that I’ve decided to include something a little special in the lore handouts. A connection between Jubilation and another setting I’ve been writing and imagining for almost as long as this strange little town.
I’m pleased to say I've written the first drafts of all the lore handouts now. Since I’ve got more wiggle room in the layout, I’m expanding the existing history handouts at the same time. I’ll be running the content past my sensitivity consultant for review once I finish refining the drafts, hopefully at the same time as getting for their review of the names lists.
From there my goal is to order a test print of the books, as that will tell me whether anything needs tweaking. As we’re also at the point where we only have a handful of failed pledges left, I’ll soon be cancelling those so I can get a better idea of final numbers.
For tonight’s song recommendations, I’d like to leave you with Sleepers by Scribbletronics and We Cut the Night by AaRON.

Project Update: Survey Out, Pre-Order Store Live!
Hi listeners.
Thank you to the folks who received the “smoke test” of the survey and filled it in already. This initial send-out to a very small percentage of backers let’s me see if I’ve set things up correctly, and so far, it seems like I have! With that boost of confidence, I have now sent out the survey to all my wonderful backers.
As that’s now done, I’ve also launched the pre-order store. As I mentioned in an earlier update, I’m using a beta version that allows me to use pledges rather than add-ons by themselves. I’ve set up three options: digital documents, softcover and digital, and hardcover and digital.
Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping to bring Midnight in Jubilation to life. I can’t wait to start adding name suggestions to the book, and working towards the next test print!
For today's song recommendations I'd like to share Your Ghost by Kristin Hersh and Dr. Mabuse by Propaganda. Enjoy!
Dorian.

Project Update: Updated Shipping Estimates
As I’ve now got a better idea of the final page count for Midnight in Jubilation, I’ve also been able to update the shipping estimates based on the quoted weight for the books and packaging. I was keen to get that done before I send out the initial test of the survey later today and—fingers crossed—send out the final survey next week.
The lower cost reflects the softcover book, while the higher rates reflect the hardcover book and multi-book packages. To be on the safe side I've rounded the weights up, as I’m hoping this will mean there’s less discrepancies when I’m putting the parcels together with confirmed addresses.
New Shipping Estimates
Asia: AUD$31.50 - $43.50
Australia: AUD$16.50 - $19.50
Canada: AUD$33.50 - $48
Europe: AUD$39.50 - $54.50
New Zealand: AUD$23.50 - $30.50
United Kingdom: AUD$39.50 - $54.50
United States: AUD$36.50 - $52.50
IMPORTANT: As noted on the campaign page, you will be responsible for paying any value-added taxes, import taxes or fees if your country enforces them. The above estimates don't take these into account, as I am not charging for them. I’m preparing all the packages myself and will be shipping via Australia Post, so I don’t have a fulfillment partner to handle that side of things.
I've also added an FAQ to the campaign page, and in the pledge manager, which talks a bit about fulfillment for both physical and digital rewards. But please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
For today's song recommendations, I'd like to suggest Public Image by Public Image Limited (PiL) and Bus to Beelzebub by Soul Coughing.

Project Update: Post-Campaign Update - Survey Drafting in Progress
I’m back at it after some much needed rest!
I have started making room for new content in the layout for Midnight in Jubilation and been beavering away on the admin side of things. I’m hoping to get the initial survey test out in a few days before the final version goes live. But I also wanted to give folks time to check their card details, held payments from their banks, etc, as we still have a few payments pending. In the meantime, I am also setting up the pre-order store! After chatting to BackerKit support, I’ve opted to try the beta version that allows me to use pledges like I did during the campaign. This means once it goes live, folks who use the pre-order store should get the same survey experience.
After testing a few things in the layout, I’ve decided on a fun way to get even more playability out of the names that backers can nominate through their surveys. This was one of our stretch goals unlocked during the campaign! Names for people will be used for those who have gone missing/returned, births, deaths, marriages, divorces, annulments—even rescinding notices of death. Or any other way you’d like to use them in your game. You can also choose to provide the name of a pet instead, particularly if you want some of that Pet Sematary atmosphere. But of course this is optional! You can always opt out of providing a name if you'd prefer.
For those of you who also backed my wonderful cross-collaboration partner and are eligible for those rewards, get excited! In their latest update, Free for All Media shared a little preview of the art for one of our cross-collab spirit cards!
I had a hard time choosing the song recommendations for this update, as I have a few good ones set aside! But eventually these three won the top spot. Wave by Patti Smith, Standing Outside A Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hand by Primitive Radio Gods, and Wrapped Around Your Finger by Unwoman.

Project Update: The End of Pocketopia 2026
Pocketopia 2026 has come to an end, but what an adventure this has been! I woke up on the first day to discover we’d exceeded my funding goal and unlocked all my planned stretch goals too. Today I woke up to find the campaign was still in overtime mode almost an hour after the event had ended! This was my first time running a BackerKit campaign and you have all made it the most wonderful experience.
With your support, we’ve also unlocked one of the final stretch goals that I am so, so excited about: The Lore of Jubilation. This means that I’ll be adding extra handouts to the Narrative Guides that reveal more about the town and its inhabitants! Once I’ve had a few days to rest, I’m keen to get stuck into preparing this new content!
So, what happens now? I’m in the process of setting up my pledge manager and will hopefully be opening up my pre-order store in the next few days. I’m also looking at adding extra copies of the softcover and hardcover books as potential add-ons to the pre-order store.
As I’m now adding additional content to the book, including some details I’ll only be able to collect via the survey, I’ll be working with both my sensitivity and accessibility consultants to ensure the final product is still inclusive and accessible. But I will keep you all updated as that progresses!
For now, I’d like to leave you with two songs by Goldfrapp as today’s recommendations: Utopia and Lovely Head.
Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart.
Dorian.
