Sept 4 - Where We're At
All right, my beloved backers, just a quick update on Where We're At, ten days after the crowdfund project ended!
- Yesterday afternoon I went to get my ducks in a row to order the magnets, and the company I ordered the sample magnet from...
...has disappeared off the face of the internet.
After a few baffled hours of searching for different places to source them from, I've now got two leads (on places I LITERALLY emailed to say "are you a real company with real people that is not going to disappear from the internet after I order a sample magnet???", one of whom actually PHONED me back) and am ONCE MORE getting sample magnets, which is, I admit, not a hitch I'd in any way anticipated. - Stickers, mousepads, and posters are all waiting for the funds to come in so I can order them, so THAT's sorted, at least
- Everyone who got a bigger-ticket item - the critiques, Tuckerizations, & short stories - has been contacted & I'm working out details of how everything's going to go with those.
- Bookplate design poll is weighing considerably in favor of a 'SHARK-MAN 4EVAH' theme and someone suggested a Shark-Man cartoon with a 'This book makes my fins tingle!' balloon so now I'm gonna ask Trashmancer if she can do one of those because I think it'd be really funny :D
I'm leaving on a Bon Jovi writing retreat early next week and will be gone for about two weeks, so there will not realistically be any updates during that time. I will also almost certainly not be writing the short stories for people during that time because I've got a huge project that I'll be trying to blast my way through, and splitting my focus won't help me do that. :)
If you would like, though, I can try to have an edited-but-not-quite-final draft of the book for you early next week, so you have something to amuse yourselves with in my absence. It'll be missing a couple of short and sweet things that will make the BackerKit edition unique unto itself, but the actual book part of it will be done, so let me know if you'd like that, or if you want to wait for the whole package. :)

Bookplates Poll!
Now that I'm beginning the process of getting everything ready for fulfilment, I have a tremendously important question to put to you all:
Do you want SHARK-MAN bookplates, or do you want bookplates that perhaps make...well...more sense to put in other books?
The way I see it, we can go whole-hog with SHARK-MAN, or I can do more general CE Murphy bookplates, which would probably have an urban fantasy-ish vibe, or I can do Murphy Lawless bookplates with a bit more of a paranormal romancey vibe, oooooorrrr... I *could* do something else entirely, if someone has a genius idea that causes me to strike my forehead and cry, "Of course!" when I see it. :)
For what it's worth, in the longer run I do expect to do a series of CE Murphyish bookplates and perhaps also Murphy Lawless-y ones, but since the thrust of the thing here is Shark-Man, I thought I'd see if there was a broadly-held strong feeling about the desired outcome for this particular project. :)
(This is not a binding poll, but an advisory one. I reserve the right to go 'nah!', although if there's a clear favorite, I probably will not go 'nah!' :))

And that's a wrap!
THE SEDUCTION OF SHARK-MAN campaign has ended with at 410% funded, and I cannot thank you all enough!
Honestly, I knew it would make the initial goal, and I hoped it would make in the region of 5K, so this has literally DOUBLED my expectations of what might happen. I am so thrilled, and so grateful!
We've unlocked:
- magnets
- posters
- new art
- mousepads
plus all the other goodies - stickers, bookplates, digital backgrounds, and, of course, BOOKS - that will be coming your way!
I'll be delivering Round One of the digital rewards (ie, the ebooks and digital background stuff) early in September, and in late September/early October I'll be sending out the backer fulfilment surveys, which will then hopefully and ideally be followed by a prompt ordering-and-delivery of the various STUFF that are part of your rewards package.
For those of you who have gotten the short stories, Tuckerizations and critique packages, I'll be reaching out to you individually in the next couple of days, and will turn the first two of those things around ASAP (the critique packages will obviously take longer :)).
I am so stunned and delighted right now. Thank you all SO MUCH, and I cannot WAIT to get the LOOT and send it out to you!!!

MOUSEPADS UNLOCKED!!!!!
GOOD HEAVENS, THE MOUSEPADS HAVE BEEN UNLOCKED!!!
We're looking at the final 8 hours, we've unlocked the mousepads WHICH SURPRISED ME, GUYS, I WASN'T EXPECTING THAT AT THIS POINT!!! and we're now down to the wire as to whether the community-chosen short story will be unlocked! I gotta admit, now that we're reaching for it, I'm really quite hoping it will be. IDK who YOU are gonna want me to write a short story about, but I can think of at least 3 characters between the Gladiator and Shark-Man shifter books about whompst I'd like to write one :D

It's the final countdown!
We're in our last 72 hours and less than a thousand euro off the mousepad stretch goal (WHOMPST among us, I ask you, could not have their office experience improved by having SHARK-MAN beneath their hand at all times? O_O)!
So now I'm naturally wibbling about what the 12.5K stretch goal should be...which has led me to create A POLL! Everybody loves a poll! :D
Our options are:

Our options are:
- a 12-month exclusive-to-backers short story about a minor character from SHARK-MAN (as voted on by you, and I'll allow a minor Gladiator Shifters character here to give you more options)
- an alternate, crowdfund-only book cover with the new va-va-va-voom art (digital AND print, but you could choose which you want if you're getting a print edition, or, y'know, order both), or
- something else genius you've thought of that i should consider :)
Go here to vote on what our final stretch goal should be (I mean I'm still open to a 25K "I'll write THE TEMPTATION OF TIGER-MAN, but I don't think we're gonna get there :D)!
Aside from that, just as a FYI, there are four big-ticket items left:
- a Tuckerization (your, or someone else's, with their permission, name as a minor character in SHARK-MAN)
- a short story featuring you as a romantic lead in my shifter universe! (You can be the shifter, yes.)
- and TWO partial book critiques by Yours Truly, Famous Author C.E. Murphy :D
I'm heading home from the States tomorrow, so a lot of the last 72 hours of this campaign will rely on you amazing people to boost the signal! I'll be home in time to wrap it up, but in the meantime, it's gone so very well and I'm so very happy with what we've achieved so far! Thank you all SO much!

101 Backers & a New Stretch Goal!
We are at a VERY EXCITING (to me, at least :D) 101 backers, which means we've hit my hoped-for minimum of 100 and now I'm hoping to pick up another 24 in the week before this project ends! :D
And I'm setting a new stretch goal, keeping in line with the ideal "it can be shipped flat" goals for this project: at €10K, we'll unlock SHARK-MAN mousepads! Because honestly, the idea of having a Shark-Man mousepad makes me laugh. I'd be amused every time I saw it, and hopefully you all will be too :D
You guys are all quite amazing, and I have a glitzier stretch goal in mind for €12.5K, but let's take this one goal at a time right now. Thank you all so much for your support! <3
