Tokii and I have been bustling away at order fulfillment and didn't realize that the time to send out these surveys had already come upon us! We apologize for the delay, and will be extending the survey period to September 23rd to make up the difference at which point they'll be locked with a final notice. Following that we'll be locking payments and addresses soon after with notices in between ;>
That's all for now, Stay adventurous! - Jacob & Tokii
We'd like to start with saying we're overjoyed by the love shared for this project, we had a fun time working on these fungi and are happy that you all had fun along with us! We're continuously blessed by your support <3 As of recently, the funding period for Mini Myconids has officially come to a close, all milestones were met, all stretch goals had been reached, and the competitions have been completed! Now it's time to make the magic happen - so let's get on the same page of our spell tomes ;>
Survey Stuff and More:
Over the next little while, in-between our busywork fulfilling the Summer Sale and getting ready to begin fulfillment for Midnight Festival 2, we'll also be hard at work getting the surveys ready for you all! The surveys are how we know what you'd like and how many in your orders as well as your shipping address, so it's very important to fill it out ;>
We're shooting to release a few instances of the survey early, this is called a smoke test, and it will hopefully go out on Thursday, September 3rd. If no issues arise from the testing we'll be letting loose the rest of the surveys that Saturday on September 5th!
Once surveys are out you guys will have two weeks to fill them out and submit them, by September 19th they'll be locked after a final notice. After that we'll be continuing to lock payments and addresses each with notices in between ;>
We should have everyone's orders compiled from their surveys before the end of September at which point the counts will be made and sent out to our manufacturers to start production! By this point we'll be doing our best to make routine updates, especially since our pin manufacturer has very sweetly offered to give even more status reports and imagery throughout their production for us to have more content to update you guys with! <3
Once production has finished, products will be shipped to our location where we will do a final count and a quality check of the inventory before beginning the fulfillment process. This is where we fill your guys' orders and get ready to ship them out! During this period we expect to make shipment runs every 1-2 weeks on Saturdays in which case we'll also give our own status update on our progress.
Finally, after all that, your mushrooms will arrive to their homes with you guys! We're expecting to have orders at their destinations by February 2027. Though it's important to note that often cases we're a little earlier to finish than expected, and occasionally even late if many hurdles arise - We'll keep you posted! :3
Future Funsies:
The closest upcoming project we have on the horizon is our Limbo of Dreams campaign - a project focused on sleep disorders; learning about them, sharing what we learn, making pin designs of symptoms and conditions, and raising funds to be donated to a narcolepsy charity soon to be revealed... Medicines for people with narcolepsy, very often needed for them to function at all in their day to day lives, are ridiculously expensive. Something that Tokii and I know about personally, The charities we're looking into help get those medicines to the people that need them at a significantly lowered price. Because of these charities our own price goes from a monthly $XX,XXX to $0. Our business and our lives would not be like they are today if not for them, and it's time for us to give back what we can. Limbo of Dreams is due to launch October 20th during the wonderful Pintober 2026 event :>
Next up on our list to inspire the most devout of our followers is the Endangered Angelica campaign which we plan to release during Pintopia 2027! This campaign takes a verse from Infernal Invasion's book, but sings the tune to a different hymn. Whereas Infernal Invasions focused on demonizing the invasive species of North America, Endangered Angelica looks to lift up the endangered species that take up the same homelands! We aim that the theming and style will both compare to and contrast to the original campaign in many facets. One of which including that a portion of the proceeds is donated to charity to conserve our endangered wildlife and make a difference. - If that tickles your fancy, you can follow the project by clicking here!
Finally, While more projects for 2027 have yet to be concreted, we're mindful to remember the other options we listed in our poll when we asked what you guys would like to see next. People did have an overwhelming love for Endangered Angelica, but we're not deaf to the voices who called out their desires for some of the other ideas we pitched... I'm certain we'll see more of the ideas from that list out on the horizon - potentially sooner than you think!
That's all for now, Stay adventurous! - Jacob & Tokii
We are happy to announce that the Popular Demand Shroomie competition has officially come to a close; there were dozens of inspiring suggestions and awesome candidates, but alas only two could qualify as our winners. It's time to see who they were!
Congratulations to Parrot Waxcap and Pixie Parasol!
Parrot Waxcap's gummy aesthetic brought it to the finals, and we did our best to represent that in it's avian design! It won the edible mushroom poll by coming in first place with 23 of the 70 votes cast! It's partner, the Pixie Parasol joins in as a winner too with 22 of the 68 votes cast in the inedible mushroom poll. We're chuffed to bits with the way our Jerboa design came out - very much in the pixie vibe! Shayne, being the one to suggest the Parrot Waxcap, and Squishenn, being the one to suggest Pixie Parasol are our winning backers, as a reward they will get the minipin their suggestion inspired as a free addition to be included with their order!
We would like to thank everyone who made a contribution to this competition, your guys' participation in events make things very engaging between us creators and supporters. I had a blast reading through everyone's comments and looking up all the pretty mushrooms, and it certainly was not easy to decide which suggestions to include! Tokii had lots of fun theorizing what these mushrooms could turn into and I believe did an excellent job depicting our wining fungi. We love to see your guys' excitement for our work :3
How can I acquire these pretty pins?
As prior mentioned, the winners will get their respective pins added to their order for free, but for others you will have the option to choose them during the survey process either as part as your initial pledge or as an additional add-on. On the topic of add-ons we also made a special one only available to backers for the Mycelium Network Tier. This add-on is for a pair of pins going for a discounted rate. That way, any prospectors looking to procure the full collection can still add on these additional pins at a discount comparable to their initial pledge!
We're just about halfway through the funding period for Mini Myconids, and have a bit of a mixed bag for the update today, so we're going to try and cut some fluff and get right to it. Before we do though, thank you for being here to give your support! - we are grateful to have you :3
Popular Demand Shroomies Competition:
We were quite blown away by how many requests there were, so many in fact that we unfortunately had to go through and select a collection of mushrooms from the comments instead of featuring every one of them. At the time of gathering there were 36, and by the time we went forward with research we chose to include 16 of those suggestions ;>
Edible Shroomies:
The backer who suggested this mushroom has their account set to private.
Tokii and I plan to participate in the Pintopia 2027 event - though we're not quite sure what project just yet! We've got a handful of new ideas as well as a few of the previous ones we'd like to revisit, so we figured... lets see what you guys think we should do!
Potential Sequels!
Blades Beasts and Blooms 2: A couple years ago we released our Blades Beasts and Blooms campaign for Pintopia 2025, it was our second ever backerkit project and focused on a vision of unity across borders. Looking at the History, Imagination, and Love that every land has. It had been originally inspired when Tokii mused about how nearly every culture has it's own version of dragon mythology - the campaign snowballed from there and was one of the pivotal projects that made CritCreations what it is today. If we were to make a sequel to this project it would continue in the same footsteps of it's predecessor. Featuring new cultures in the same style and size as before potentially including more kinds of products like journals and pin banners, though I would predict that the amount of cultures featured would likely not be quite as many as the 20ish we focused on originally ;>
Dungeon Familiars Reimagined: Beyond the shadow of a doubt, we here at CritCreations place a high regard on Dungeons & Dragons. It's how Tokii and I first met and has continued to be one of our primary hobbies to this day. Our Dungeon Familiars campaign launched during Pinquest 2025 a little more than a year ago and featured 12 infamous beasties from the realm of fantasy. Each critter got a pin, a colorway, and a custom statblock for dnd 5e, and the campaign featured more items like washi tape, mini pins, and acrylic charms. If we were to do another campaign based on the previous, we would have to do something a little different. We do our best to avoid copyrighted material, which is why creatures like the plotting Beholder or illusive Displacer Beast did not make an appearance in the previous campaign and won't make it into subsequent ones, and I'd imagine that finding a completely new set of public domain monsters may prove difficult... However, what I think would be fun would be to take the monsters we've featured before and reimagine them in a larger more ornate designs, around 2-2.5". This would be the focus of the project, but beside this I can imagine a set of brand new colorways for the previous designs, mini pins based off of the dnd classes, and even stretchgoals for requested (open domain) monsters we may have missed! - made into both 1.5" cuties as well as the larger designs this campaign features.
Infernal Invasions, The Second Coming: Infernal Invasions was our first campaign with a storyline attached and it was an absolute blast to do - displaying real world information set beside a tale of fiction was very enjoyable! Much more exciting though was that this campaign made a difference, raising nearly $4,000 of difference to be exact! You and I made our contribution together as creators and supporters to the North American Invasive Species Management Association (NAISMA) and would be working with them even more to help decide new beasts to turn our focus to! Besides that, the project would likely be created in the same image as it's predecessor; 7 fanciful fiendish pin designs, 7 magnificent minipins, and more to be decided... This campaign of course would donate a portion of the proceeds to NAISMA so that they can fight the good fight against the invasive species that have encroached on our homes.
The Brand New!
Rock the Boat: They say that we know more about our solar system than we do about our own oceans, and all of our ancestors have often wondered; just what exactly the cold watery depths could be hiding from us - or more appropriately what could be hiding beneath the waves in wait for us... This campaign would focus on sea monster myths from around the globe; all the old world lore, tall tales, and research will be wrapped up in the banner of Jolly Roger and tied together with old moor lines! I ask ye matey, do ye dare to gaze deep into Davy Jones' locker?
Adventurer's Pair-o'-Dice: This idea, admittedly from a pin standpoint has been done before, but it's high time that CritCreations took a shot at it. This campaign would feature a series of D&D dice as pins with numerous colorways. However, where it would stand out is that we would look into having a custom dice set made for the project, potentially multiple for each colorway ;> DICE GOBLINS BE WARNED!
Endangered Angels: If Infernal Invasion is Yin, Endangered Angels would be Yang. This idea is directly inspired by our previous Infernal Invasions campaign but would focus more specifically on endangered animals as opposed to invasive ones with a portion of proceeds going to help their conservation through charity. If you thought Infernal Invasion had cool vibes, but wanted something a little different? Endangered Angels may just be for you!

We've attached the Pintopia 2027 Project Vote onto today's update (though you can also vote in our discord if you've joined previously), but please be sure to vote in the other polls hyperlinked above if you're interested in helping to decide the winner for the current campaign's competition!
Thank you all for your amazing support for our project, with your guys' help we were able to fully fund the initial milestones in 3 hours flat! We've unlocked all 16 current Myconid Minipins, and funded for the stickers, the washi tape, and pin banner! We absolutely could not have done this without your generosity, and to that we say thank you <3
So what's next? Well, We hadn't expected to do this until tomorrow at the earliest but I'm afraid if we wait too long you guys will have shot past even the stretch goals! Meaning that we're revealing the final goals to unlock the last items for this campaign.
Stretch Goal #1: Fairy Ring Field Journal
For those of you that have been with us for a few campaigns you'll know how much we love our journals, so we've decided that our first stretch goal will be just that! After our Cryptids and Critters campaign we were absolutely blown away by the wonderful texture and beautiful quality our manufacturer was able to produce for the Jackalope Journal... we wanted to repeat a new design on the same materials with the same processes. I hope you are as excited as we are! :3
Stretch Goal #2: Popular Demand Shroomies
We love a good competition, so to get us into a fungi fiesta we've decided to include a competition for one last pair of Mini Myconid pins to be included with this campaign and unlocked as our final stretch goal! Read below to see how you can earn yourself a free pin! :>
And then??
Once we've hit our final goal, unless we get any more fun suggestions from you all, we're through! Everything will have been unlocked and ready for you guys to order :3
That's all for now, Stay adventurous! - Jacob & Tokii
I am excited to say that the launch for the Pocket Change event is right around the corner, as of sending this update only two days away! Tokii and I are extremely excited to be participating in this event, and have had lots of fun getting ready for our Mini Myconid's debut.
You may have noticed from how long the title is that there's a lot of stuff to talk about today, so we'll get into it with haste! First though I would like to thank you guys for the excitement shown for this project, your energy and support mean a world of difference to us :3
Be sure to check out the Stretch Goal section where you can find information to a poll as well as a small competition! :D

Milestones:
Milestone #1: (received 37 votes)
Milestone #2: (received 31 votes) Milestone #3: (received 21 votes) Milestone #4: (received 20 votes) Milestone #5: (received 12 votes) Milestone #6: (received 11 votes) Milestone #7: (received 11 votes) Milestone #8: (received 10 votes) Other Items: In addition to the two pins, once the first milestone has been unlocked, there will be even more goodies to behold!
Stretch Goal #1 - 📖The Fairy Ring Field Journal📖: That's right! we're bringing back journal's once again, though this time we have a question for you. While on a walk a few days ago, Tokii brought up the idea of having this journal use blank paper rather than our usual dotted. This was to make spore printing with wild mushrooms easier to do with the journal - not that it wouldn't be possible with dotted or lined paper, but that whole discussion brought to our attention that we should probably ask you all what you'd prefer!
We'd been doing dotted paper because it's the middle-ground between lined and blank; suitable for drawing or journaling depending only on what you decide to fill it with. Though if there are more artists among us, or more writers, it would make sense to ask what the preference actually is.
Attached to this update there will be a poll, please share your thoughts by voting and commenting there! :> Stretch Goal #2 - 🍄🟫Popular Demand Shroomies🍄: We've decided to do a small competition; We call upon the community to request mushrooms they would like to see added to the campaign, and later down the line by around the halfway mark of the funding period we will set up a couple polls for two mushrooms to be decided from the community suggestions, one edible mushroom, and one inedible mushroom. If you have an idea please be sure to share it below in the comments! You may just see it become a pin ;>
Special thanks to Bennett for suggesting Witch's Butter and inspiring this idea!
Other Creators:
Bottled Botanicals by HoloRaindrops: The Bottled Botanicals campaign offers a wide arrangement of ornamental plants in a variety of differing vases - all in pin form! We loved the cohesive style that this project offers and think that the choices of plants they've included in their array are mesmerizing! Dungeon Denizens by Abi Stevens Art: For those of you who have been following us for a while, it will be no secret to you how much Tokii and I adore all things D&D. Abi Stevens' Dungeon Denizens campaign depicts a wide array of popular beasties from that medium and incorporate them into these very unique designs that use nearly all the surface space a 1" mold can offer - super cool! Figura Botanical by Elm Tree Studio: When I originally started window shopping and peaking in on our peers' projects I was blown away by Elm Tree Studio's take for the Pocket Change event. Their incredibly ornate pins from this project come in all shapes and sizes from teensy-tiny to small! Using these pins like puzzle pieces one could create their own elaborate displays! Breathtaking work. Framed Bug Collection by Cathead Pins: When I was young I used to collect bugs myself, my favorite of which has been included in the Framed Bug Collection by Cathead Pins. I want that cicada and I must have it. Oddity Apothecary by Marachi Studios: Last but certainly not least is Marachi Studios' Oddity Apothecary. While we have personal bias to include them in our array of favorites you'll have to excuse them while I hark on these designs. On the topic of designs, Marachi has absolutely knocked it out of the park! their menagerie of trinkets and lovely pastel style has tickled an itch in my brain, and I'm left on the edge of my seat to see more once the campaigns launch!
