Project Update: All at sea (but not for long)
Hello all!
Those of you tracking the progress of the books may have noticed something strange happened somewhere around the Cape of Good Hope: the destination changed from Felixstowe to Rotterdam.
Which leaves us with the questions: Why did that happen? Where are the books?
Before I get into that, a little Tim Roberts lore drop.
I spent two years in the Merchant Navy, primarily on this ship, so I have an idea how these things work. The likely explanation is that a vessel in Felixstowe ran over on its unloading, so our beautiful vessel, the Cosco Excellence, diverted to its next stop. It arrived in the port of Rotterdam on Saturday, did a quick unload and is now back at sea and heading towards us.
I've done a bit of digging around, and the good news is that it is now on its way back to Felixstowe with an anticipated arrival date of the 7th of October.
How quick they unload and get the books to us depends on a couple of variables:
1. How much stuff there is to unload in Felixstowe.
2. How busy customs are.
Once it's through customs, it will be picked up and brought to us. We still expect everything to be with us this month and we will begin fulfilment immediately.
As always, I will keep you updated on the progress.
Tim (& Simon who is definitely ashore).
