Project Update: Printing Heroes, Check Your Packages, and Fill Out Surveys if You Haven't!

So... I get a call Saturday at 11:30 and it is my contact from the local printer, Nichole Jones. She decided to come in on a Saturday, problem shoot the press that was down, got it up and running despite the fact the tech couldn't figure it out earlier in the week, and printed all 1200 passes of the transparency sheets so I could pick up the entire order and get this product shipped out first thing this week!

Long story short, local printers are awesome (especially this gal!) and if you had your survey filled out prior to Sunday, you will be getting your package pretty soon (usually within 7 days if you're in the States). I could not get the tracking numbers uploaded correctly tonight, but I will try again sometime later in the week.

If you ordered iron-on patches, please check the mailer/boxes carefully for them!

If anyone has any issues with their order, contact me directly ([email protected]) giving me your mailing name and the issue, and I will work to get it resolved ASAP. I can also look up individual tracking numbers if there is a urgent need to know.

If you have not filled out your survey (there are 12 of you!) or just filled out the survey recently, I will work to get those orders shipped as soon as I can, but my schedule is going to push that off until probably Friday (sorry, it's a day job thing).

I hope you have a great time running this adventure and appreciate all of you for backing this project. For those that threw in the $5 to make the project better, everyone (thanks to YOU) is getting a FULL-COLOR, DOUBLE-SIDED map insert printed on CARD STOCK! I felt this was a better upgrade than doing foil lettering. So there you go, your extra funds made a beautiful thing happen!

Here's my printer hero, Nichole Jones of The National Group. I am in love with that company and their customer service. They are amazing!

Project Update: ...And then the Press Broke Down...

I will keep this short, as I know Backerkit campaigns create WAY too much email (to most people's taste). I was hoping to have all the product mailed out this weekend, but earlier in the week the press that was printing the transparencies for it broke down. My local printer's had the tech in working on it, but it did not get resolved, yet. They are working on it, but given the Labor Day weekend, it is probably going to be mid-week next week before the prints are finished (that is their estimate at this time).

Those of you that have been on this ride with me in the past know that I try my very best to get things out on time, and I never start a new campaign until my previous one is delivered. Thank you for your patience with this, and I hope you will feel the wait was well worth it, I've very pleased with the prints that have been completed.

Project Update: Shipping Phase Here We Come!

After some real struggles to get the transparencies in good shape, we are almost 100% printed and ready to start shipping. I though we would ship early on this one, but the transparency overlays turned out to be more difficult than first thought. Basically, none of my usual vendors would print those, but my local printer (who is doing the rest of the book) stepped up to the plate and figured out a way to get them through one of their presses. To get the opaque images they had to run each one through the machine twice (once for a white -ink backing and then the color app). The big issue was getting the two prints to line up half-decent and they finally got that down to what I believe is a quality print, last week.

Here's an example of the earlier prints of one of the transparencies (left) and the more dialed-in version (right):

Anyhow, I plan to get the shipping done a little at a time across the next few week nights and this coming weekend. This book really came out as good as I could have ever hoped, and I look forward to sharing it with you all!  Thanks for making this project a reality!!!

If, like me, you run a lot of one-offs and con games for MCC, you might be interested in my next project, "A Mutant for All Seasons." It's a book/PDF of all seven genotypes for the game, presented as pregens, levels 0-10 and given illustrations that "level-up" as the character does. Michael Greer is doing the portraits for it, and his talent has that gritty and funny tone that really matches the MCC vibe! Below is an example character sheet from the project (the information on it is somewhat incomplete, as it was being used to help layout the extra, background illustrations). The book will also come with randomized charts for equipping characters, blank character sheets, and some higher level wetware for the Shaman genotype.

Project Update: Surveys Are Almost All In...

We are nearly complete on backer surveys. Within the next few days I will be locking those down. At that point, I will send out the PDFs to everyone who gets them and the digital maps for folks wanting to use them for VTT. We are gearing up for the print run and will likely be starting physical shipping late next week.

Here's a video going through the printer's proof:

And some pictures (look at all this stuff that comes in it!):

Thanks everybody!

Project Update: A quick update as I head to GenCon...

The Test
The "smoke test" (a small sample of the overall surveys) has been sent out. If there are no glitches, the full survey will follow in the next few days to everyone else. I will have the printer's proofs in hand after GenCon, and believe (if early samples I have seen are an indicator) we will go full-press on this very soon!

Thanks for your incredible support!

Weird Frontiers

Oh, and check out this great Weird Frontier's campaign if you haven't already! This game is blast and fuses dark horror and old-west grit in such an amazing way!
