After some real struggles to get the transparencies in good shape, we are almost 100% printed and ready to start shipping. I though we would ship early on this one, but the transparency overlays turned out to be more difficult than first thought. Basically, none of my usual vendors would print those, but my local printer (who is doing the rest of the book) stepped up to the plate and figured out a way to get them through one of their presses. To get the opaque images they had to run each one through the machine twice (once for a white -ink backing and then the color app). The big issue was getting the two prints to line up half-decent and they finally got that down to what I believe is a quality print, last week.
Here's an example of the earlier prints of one of the transparencies (left) and the more dialed-in version (right): Anyhow, I plan to get the shipping done a little at a time across the next few week nights and this coming weekend. This book really came out as good as I could have ever hoped, and I look forward to sharing it with you all! Thanks for making this project a reality!!!
If, like me, you run a lot of one-offs and con games for MCC, you might be interested in my next project, "A Mutant for All Seasons." It's a book/PDF of all seven genotypes for the game, presented as pregens, levels 0-10 and given illustrations that "level-up" as the character does. Michael Greer is doing the portraits for it, and his talent has that gritty and funny tone that really matches the MCC vibe! Below is an example character sheet from the project (the information on it is somewhat incomplete, as it was being used to help layout the extra, background illustrations). The book will also come with randomized charts for equipping characters, blank character sheets, and some higher level wetware for the Shaman genotype.
