Hi Cloud Chasers! Here's the second Creature Feature for the Lofty Cloudweaver, our second Cloud Chaser Critter!
The Lofty Cloudweaver’s grace is hard to ignore. With its bright yellow scales, soft and fluffy wool and bright blue wings, these dragons elegantly adorn the skies they roam. They have a long and slender body with an equally long and tufted tail, and a pair of powerful brown horns. Their wings have a shimmering effect to them, like a butterfly’s wings, refracting light and displaying beautiful hues of blue. These patterns are caused by the wing’s scale formation, and as such, every Cloudweaver wing pattern is different.
This Critter used to be called Woolweaver, but we decided Cloudweaver sounded more appropriate.
Cloudweavers’ name is not figurative: these Critters’ shed wool turns into physical clouds you can actually stand on. Their maneuvers can weave clouds into specific shapes, and large congregations of Cloudweavers have actually created vast sky islands. We’ve even been able to discover rare creatures endemic to these sky islands, like the Solar Jellybloom!
Cloudweavers spend most of their lives between the clouds, high up in the sky. They usually make their dens in caves atop tall mountaintops or on sky islands of their own creation, and they use the harsh winds of their habitats to easily lift off and expertly maneuver in the sky. They are so attuned to the clouds, some have even learned how to conjure lightning by harnessing the friction from their wool!
