The campaign ended earlier today and I'm so pleased and thankful!
Collectively, you all raised over $800 to bring this little game to life!
Thank you all so much! My goal now is to make sure the game is the most fun it can be while also getting it to all of you in a timely manner. Those are goals that are slightly at odds with one another, but the solution is just a lot of playtesting this summer to make sure I've ironed out all the wrinkles that make the game boring or frustrating.
We're into the final week! We've nearly tripled the funding goal, which means there's free shipping to all US backers, and we're within reach of the next stretch goal, which will make for a nicer finish on the cards and boxes.
So help spread the word this Memorial Day weekend!
Well, we're more than halfway through the campaign and we've nearly tripled our funding goal! Would be very cool to reach that $1,000 stretch goal so that I can upgrade the card quality. Anyway, over the last few weeks, I've been interviewing some of the other Pocketopia designers. I want to point you towards those projects and our interviews now! Hare to the Throne is a two player game that replicates the feeling of a TCG in a quick 20 minute experience. Listen to our conversation here! The Roots of Soledad is a GM-less game where you experience a magical realist town. Listen to our conversation here! Red Panda Surprise is a fast card game with a unique little mechanic and a delightful theme. Listen to our conversation here! Gelt Galore is a Hannukah themed party game. Check out our conversation here! A Week with Frog & Rabbit is a TTRPG where you go on cozy little adventures. Check out our conversation here! Pipes is a quick two player card game about controlling water. Check out our conversation here! If you'd like to listen on Apple Podcasts instead, go here. Check out all these other projects and help make them all real! Several of these are already funded but a few are still working towards their funding goal, so you can help push them over the edge. Thanks again for all your support and let's get to that next stretch goal!
Like I announced last week, I've partnered with Green Cloak Creative to produce a few special rewards for people who back both games. Check out their game Gnome Squad! It is also an 18 card battling game, but with gnomes instead of beetles! People who back both of our games will receive this card from Green Cloak Creative: It's taken me a bit longer to get my card put together. Been a very busy week that's involved over 1,000 miles of travel but I grabbed some time last night in a hotel in Wisconsin to finally get this card put together. Here is what you'll receive from me when you back both our games! The art and even design of this card may change over the course of development, but I'll be sure to keep everyone updated on any progress! Both of these cards are exclusive to people who back both games, so the only way to receive them will be through backing both our projects. If you haven't yet, pick up a copy of Beetle Battle! But also be sure to pick up Gnome Squad!
I have had a very busy last few days so I haven't been able to check in on the campaign much, but we passed the first stretch goal sometime today, which means all US backers will have free shipping! Doubling our funding goal within the first week feels very good and makes me that much more excited to get this little game into your hands. I'll have more updates once I'm back home and able to settle back into life, but that likely won't be until Friday afternoon. Thank you all so much! In the meantime, do check out the other Family Friendly games in Pocketopia! If you back three games, you'll get exclusive stickers from each of the games you backed. Until next time!
