Shipping will be collected in the pledge manager after we have the product in hand from the printer and are ready to ship it to backers. See the Shipping and Fulfillment section in the campaign for more information about the delivery timelines. We currently don't have shipping prices entered for physical rewards in BackerKit. We plan to wait until closer to fulfillment to enter & charge you for the physical items on your survey to get the most accurate/fair fulfillment prices. We will update backers after entering those shipping prices before we charge you in BackerKit.
We're happy to say we've partnered with a European based distributor for discounted shipping to the UK and EU. We've also contracted with an EU based representative for GPSR compliance. This means we can ship to the following countries. US, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain Sweden, and the United Kingdom. For those outside those countries, we encourage you to pledge for one of the digital tiers instead.
While the campaign is active, you can change your pledge level without restriction. Once the campaign is over, funds have been collected, and we move to the pledge manager, this becomes more restricted because of how the rewards are handled. In general, tiers that include printed items can only be upgraded to other print tiers, and the Player (Digital Only) tier can only be upgraded to the All In! (Digital Only) tier. You can request to upgrade your pledge under the "Need Help?" link of your BackerKit survey!
First, we want to thank you. With your pledge, you are helping a small creator to bring to market a new game in a way we otherwise couldn't. Sometimes those who pledge expect rewards based on their pledged funds and some simply want to support the project. Crowdfunding is a way for creators to gather and gauge interest in an idea, reliably predict the inventory required for the demand, and to gather funds to get that idea off the ground. Full refunds not only take away from the initial pledge total the creator is counting on to see their project through, but also cost the creator extra money in the nonrefundable fees that are collected by the platform, etc. We thank you for your confidence and support. That all said, we understand that emergencies can arise and circumstances can change. With all this in mind, refunds will be processed on a case by case basis with the following guidelines in mind. 1.) Any time before the campaign ends, you are free to upgrade, downgrade or cancel your pledge. 2.) Once the campaign ends, there is no way for us to prevent your card from being charged, and once charged, we are unable to cancel your payment. 3.) Because we are unable to predict shipping prices, if they become too much of a burden for you once they are established and to be collected in pledge manager, you may ask for a partial refund by downgrading to the nearest "digital only" tier (less nonrefundable platform fees). 4.) After physical rewards are shipped, we will happily replace any damaged or defective items. Simply let us know. Refund and customer service requests may asked under the "Need Help?" Link in your BackerKit survey.
Absolutely! We aim to make all our PDFs as user and print friendly as we can. This means that (where possible) we'll have layers you can turn off for backgrounds that can cause excess ink / toner usage, and for most of the art if you want to exclude that too. And of course the books will have clickable table of contents, indexes, and bookmarks to make navigating through them a breeze.
BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
