If you are interested in the hardcover books, we suggest the Hardcover pledge levels: - The Spawns Hardcover pledge level contains the Spawns of the Mindrender hardcover book and all Spawns of the Mindrender PDFs. - The Hardcover Series pledge level contains all four adventures (Spawns of the Mindrender, Crown of the Oathbreaker, Torrents of the Spellhoarder, and Scepter of the Lightbringer) as hardcover books, along with the PDFs for each adventure. If you don’t want to get one of the higher pledge levels, but you want specific accessories or modules, you can get most items as individual add-ons during the campaign.

After choosing your pledge level, you can simply choose all the add-ons you wish to be included. If you wish to choose add-ons at a later stage (for example, if they are unlocked in stretch goals), you can increase your pledge amount. In the subsequent BackerKit survey, this extra amount will appear as credit, allowing you to select the corresponding add-ons.

Every pledge level already includes the Spawns of the Mindrender PDF in the rewards. The tiers with “Series” in their name also include the Crown of the Oathbreaker, Torrents of the Spellhoarder, and Scepter of the Lightbringer PDFs.

About 3-4 weeks after the campaign ends, we will send you a survey to confirm your pledge and choose your VTT preferences. We will contact you separately when the products are ready to pay for shipping. You can also upgrade your reward if you wish or add any add-ons you missed during the campaign. We will ask you questions about your rewards, like which VTT platform you want. We will send another notification before fulfillment so you may update your shipping information.

Yes, of course you can! You will still be able to add any item to your pledge on the Backerkit pledge manager, but some items might have a higher price during the late pledge.

Digital products will be fulfilled through the Backerkit pledge manager when they become available. The Crown of the Oathbreaker, Torrents of the Spellhoarder, and Scepter of the Lightbringer PDFs and VTTs will be fulfilled earlier than the other rewards, in July 2027.

Physical products will be fulfilled after the campaign when they become available. You will be notified before fulfillment. We aim to deliver physical rewards in October 2027. In certain places, VAT or sales tax might apply to your purchase. In this case, the tax will need to be paid during the BackerKit survey. Once the products are ready, we will ship them from warehouses located in New Jersey and the UK using tracked and insured shipping methods. We will offer the option to get your Crown of the Oathbreaker, Torrents of the Spellhoarder, and Scepter of the Lightbringer physical products, but please note that this means you need to pay for their shipping separately from the Spawns of the Mindrender products.

The Deluxe Box contains the DM screen, booster cards, dice set, the cover poster, poster maps, a Vordan scratch-off map, art prints, handouts, stickers, and all digital products for Spawns. Note that the Deluxe Box pledge level comes with the BackerKit-exclusive Deluxe Edition Spawns of the Mindrender hardcover instead of the regular one, which has a limited edition metallic ink cover art. Additionally, the pledge level also includes a set of 6 miniatures and Varkhal the huge iron giant miniature. The Deluxe Box will also be filled with additional goodies if we unlock our stretch goals – like four sets of character sheets, extra poster maps and booster cards, DM sheets, additional miniatutres, player journals, a metal dice set, and a Shandar Plushie.

We will create a list of all NPCs in the story and share it with all Spawns Hero Box Series backers. You may choose from this list on a first-come, first-served basis. These characters are all named NPCs in the adventure, and all have very specific roles in the story. Beyond choosing which NPC you would like to embody, you can specify your portrait’s cosmetic traits. Some examples include facial features, visible tools, accessories, jewelry, weapons, clothes, tattoos, makeup, or magical effects (like being surrounded by a faint glow or holding a floating ball of flame). We will notify our Hero Box tier backers about the day and time when the NPC selection begins, and they will be able to pick any NPC that hasn’t been chosen by someone else by commenting their backer numbers next to their chosen NPC. All portraits are based on photos we receive from backers. However, if you don’t want your portrait to be based on your likeness, you can let us know, and we will still create it according to your specifications.

Yes, a few rewards are only available as physical goods: the hardcover books, DM screens, booster cards, miniatures, the scratch-off map, cover posters, art prints, dice sets, sticker sheets, and some of the stretch goal rewards. The other physical rewards come with the PDF version of the product.

The deluxe hardcover is an exclusive reward for the highest tiers, so there is no add-on option. It is only available as part of the Spawns Deluxe Box and the Spawns Hero Box pledge levels.

The unopened books come in plastic wrap, but they don’t have a separate dust cover.

All our adventures are developed in accordance with the Open Gaming License, Version 1.0a, under the terms and conditions set forth in the System Reference Document 5.1 as provided by Wizards of the Coast. Even if you don’t play 5e, all four adventures have a ton of resources to use in your own adventure — hundreds of NPCs, scores of dungeon and location maps, over a hundred monsters, and a wide variety and huge range of encounter ideas. The stat blocks in Spawns of the Mindrender will also be converted to the D&D 2024 5.5e game system, including monsters, subclasses, spells, and feats.

Spawns of the Mindrender is planned to be a 600-page book. About 350 pages will make up the adventure itself. The rest comprises the Vordan campaign setting and appendices for monsters and NPCs, magic items, subclasses, spells, feats, random encounter tables, handouts, and new rules like running the chaos of a battlefield and a new short-term madness list. Crown of the Oathbreaker is 900 pages, with 650 pages making up just the adventure; Torrents of the Spellhoarder is 500 pages, with 350 pages of the adventure; and Scepter of the Lightbringer is 600 pages, with 350 pages worth of adventures.

Spawns of the Mindrender takes characters from levels 11 to 16.

The encounters are balanced around 4 player characters. If the party consists of a different number of adventurers, it might be a good idea to slightly adjust the difficulty to fit your playgroup better.

We manufacture in China, so tariffs will affect our business. However, we will honor the prices promised on BackerKit. Unfortunately, the final retail prices in our store may be slightly higher than those announced in the project. We did a little bit of research and it seems that Harmonized Tariff Code 49019900 makes tariffs on books exempt. Any additional we might pay would be tariffs on non-printed accessories and a standard 7.5% tariff under Section 301, Tariff List 4, which we were prepared to include in our costs.

You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.

Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
