One Last Time with One More Last Time

So here's the thing. I already wrote this book. It already exists. You can already read it. By most reasonable metrics, my job here is done.

And yet.

Here I am, making you a special version, because apparently regular books just don't do it for me anymore. Regular ebooks, regular hardcovers, regular sensible use of my time — none of that is to my liking. I need foil. I need stenciled edges. I need a bookmark that's physically sewn into the book so I never ever lose my place.

But mostly I need Montana's story sitting on your shelf, looking like it could bench press your other books.

So that's what this is: the version of the book that exists because nobody was around to stop me. A hardcover built like it's expecting trouble. With a fancy map included to give you an idea of where all the action's happening:

And for anyone who's new here, hi. I'm Eric, and this is my book. Here's the official blurb, so you can see if it's something you'd be into:

A ruined life. A broken heart.

He thought it was the end, and his gun sat ready to make sure.

But an oddball offer from his only friend comes at the literal last second. Curiosity gets the best of him, and he finds himself sucked into iNcarn8, a game claiming to be a whole new life. Now as Montana, the larger-than-life tank warrior, he has one more last time to get his life right.

One More Last Time is the first book in The Good Guys, a LitRPG GameLit series. If you like fast-paced adventure, RPG mechanics, and sweet level progression with a deep magic and game system, this book is for you. It has notes of The Land and classic Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, and stars a lovable idiot of a main character who can’t seem to shake his dark past and find the quiet life he so wants.

The Good Guys is currently 16 books long, and I'm still writing it. So if you like One More Last Time, there's plenty more where it came from. I hope you give it a try!

Don't worry — the loot goes beyond the brawny hardback. There are goblin pins. A temporary tattoo so you can finally, safely but non-legally ride with Montana's old motorcycle club. A pin from Coggeshall Brewery advertising our mead that is, and I cannot stress this enough, magical, and a pilsner that is merely passable. It's a fantasy world, but some things stay real, okay? And lastly there's a prinky plushie, for everyone who's thought, "I would very much like to hold that little menace."

If you want to actually leave your fingerprints in Vuldranni, I've got tiers for that too. Get your name etched into the story as an NPC (no promises on your continued existence). Design a monster to torment Montana with. Make Mr. Paul deliver a gift on your behalf, which is an odd sentence to write, but you guys get it. Or just get me on a call and ask me every lore question you've been sitting on, and watch me answer at least 60% of them before my better judgment kicks in.

So join me and back this thing. Let's make something we'll both be way too proud of.

Stretch Goals

Stretch Goal: $25,000

Unlocked: New Prinky Color

Prinkies are known for many things: mischief, chaos, and an unsettling talent for being exactly where you don't want them. But one thing that's missing in our little campaign is the variety prinkies offer. Until now.

If we reach $25,000, we'll unlock a second color of the Prinky plushie. And because we're not monsters (that's the Prinkies' job), you get to vote on what color it is. Democracy has never been so small, fuzzy, and morally questionable.

Will it be a classic? Something bold? That's up to you. Every backer gets a vote. So bring your opinions, your campaign strategies, and your willingness to argue with strangers in the comments.

Prinkies for everyone. Or at least two Prinkies for everyone who wants them.

Timeline and Shipping

As with any crowdfunding campaign, a timeline is but an estimate. But this was all pretty exciting to me, so almost everything is already ready to go!

About two weeks after the campaign ends, we’ll send out surveys. Shipping will be collected after the campaign closes, through the pledge manager. The cost will be calculated based on your final reward selection, add-ons, package weight, and destination.

Here’s my best guess at how things will play out:

September-October: Crowdfunding! Time to back!
November: Printing and Manufacturing Time! Time to fill out surveys!
March: Fulfillment Begins!

I'll share updates throughout production, freight, and fulfillment so you can follow your goodies on their journey home.
