Shadowfiend is a pilot issue that follows Jabbers the cat on the worst day of her life. The pampered pet of a travelling merchant will have to adapt if she wants to survive this world.
Shadowfiend is a fully colored 20-page comic book I had produced in a manga style. I've been a fan of shonen and seinen manga ever since I was a teenager in the 2000s. I am mostly creating this campaign as an interest check for the series in case I decide to pursue it with more of a budget. Jabbers was an ordinary house cat who lived in an ox-drawn wagon with a kind hearted merchant on their way to sell their wares in Crown City. They seemed to be making good time, and were laying down to rest when they are approached by adventurers.
After her beloved Edgar begins to protest, things turn ugly and Jabbers is left in the world alone.
She swore, no matter what it took she would get revenge after learning the hardest lesson the pampered pet had ever had to learn

What is Feral Comics and why do they need the money?
Feral Comics is a one-man independent comic book publisher founded by Kevin Williams in 2025 in order to attach a professional sounding name to his writing projects. He has written stories collaboratively and solo for over 25 years as a hobbyist. It wasn't until he moved from rural Ohio to the Kansas City area that he gained the confidence to put his work out there with the emotional support of his family.
His first comic book was Girl in the Red Hood, which unfortunately did not meet its goal and has since been placed in the Feral Comics vault awaiting relaunch. After that he wrote Shadowfiend and Waffles The Conqueror as a personal challenge to himself before developing Crittermon.
Feral Comics is preparing to release everything in order to recoup some of the investment that came from Kevin's pocket and be able to green light continuations and expansions of Shadowfiend and others. The process of making comic books is expensive and time consuming. All of the money spent has come from working a regular fast food job while supporting a family. More money would also mean a better rate for our artists we partner with, which would get us faster turnaround times, higher detail, and improve financial security for our whole team through continued work.
