Project Update: Carry On My Wayward Heroes
Thank you, every single one of you, for your support during this campaign.
Crowdfuning season is pretty much over for the year. We have a long, exciting winter ahead. We are looking at a number of different paths to take as the studio, and especially for Advanced Armory.
We'll be active on the discord while we're working on content. For any BIG updates, we'll put the word out here and on Facebook.
Thank you again, very much! Keep questing!!
Project Update: Digital Only Backers
We were reviewing our backer data and noted that a couple of backers were using their regions, but didn't pledge for any physical rewards.
The region-specific pledge levels include shipping costs. Unless you intend for these extra funds to be a donation (which we will gladly accept), you will want to shift over to the Bard (digital only) pledge level.
Thanks!
Project Update: Dragons Poll
**This deck (and everything else we're still working on) will be a 2024 release on TheGameCrafter (US/NA) and Printerstudio.com (UK/EU) for made-to-order.**
Project Update: Final Stretch
We are in the final stretch of our crowdfund effort here on Backerkit. We're hovering at about 50% with very little movement. Does it look like we will fund? Unfortunately, no. BUT you never know what might happen in the next few days. As always with crowdfunding, there is no risk to the backers for staying the course. If we do not fund, it costs you nothing. The only losses here are ours alone. We encourage everyone to cross this finish line with us if you are able. Financial support may be off the table, but community support is still appreciated!
This is NOT the end of Advanced Armory. Not by a longshot. We are actively working on the guidebook, new content, and some budget friendly translation options. We are absolutely launching Advanced Armory 2nd Edition in Q1 of 2024. It is just a matter of when and where. More on this later.
Okay brave heroes and evil wizards, let us wrap this marathon up and get settled in for the long winter!
Project Update: Mining Mod/Expansion
We are playing around with Mining rules as a mod for the game we already have. The more we dig (pun intended) the more potential we see to develop something really fun. We are probably going down this rabbit hole no matter what, but we'd love some input from the community. Please vote in the poll, and leave a comment with your thoughts and feedback!
1) Create a basic mod. Rules only, included in the Guidebook.
2) Create a developed mod. Rules are included in the Guidebook, plus a new mining-specific loot deck.
3) Create a scalable mod/system. Dedicated book, cards, tokens. Only buy/print/use the components you want. Upgrade as you go, or ignore the rest.
4) Create a fully realized, fully developed boxed expansion. Like a legit box with a rulebook, mining loot deck, mini-card deck, tokens, and tiles.
We'll share some of our work on this today in the Discord, so pop by if you want a sneaky peak!
(this expansion would be a Wave 2 project)

Hey. If we purchase the digital decks. How will they come to us? Will the card be laid out if a page to run off in a printer at home? Or each card in its individual file for submission to a print place like make playing cards.com ? Also, is there any issue with modifying digital files? Specifically I would like to add coloured dice logos to utilize the different levels of strength that the German coloured dice brought to the game, and simply adding colours onto the dice logos on your cards, I could customize them to my strength preferences. I would only be doing so for our Sinai print purposes, not for sharing or selling. Just curious on your thoughts on that.

Hey there. I realize that your cards are done, and ready to get out there… But it would bug me if I didn’t at least mention/ask this. Why are your icons coloured? Your icons for One handed/two handed and thrown weapons are green. Upon looking at the cards, I instantly think they have a poison ability. All of the armour slots are purple but make me think they are magical, especially with the glowing aura around them. Why not just go for basic white icons? Even the range icons could be displayed as white for standard range, as the surrounding squares are clear anyway and wouldn’t impede view. Ranged attack could still be yellow. I realize that it would be monumental to try and change everything, just curious if there was a reason to why you made them this way, or if you had any feedback regarding this.
Project Update: Heroes Guild Digital Add-On Available
Since Heroes Guild I is finished and online, we are opening this deck up as a digital add-on.
Thanks!

I don't want to be that guy, but what if this doesn't reach the backing amount needed? I saw on your website you have a Frist Edition Farwell Bundel. My concern is if this doesn't make it, are you getting ride of the First Edition or will you be keeping that up?
We're back in the forge "officially" today, and working on a proper update. This one will be an email and a video, so keep an eye on your inboxes.
Thanks!

Project Update: State of the Campaign Address
Backerkit Mid-campaign Update
- Promo Card Show-Off < 2min (video): https://youtu.be/62c6dz2q1pw
- Short Version ~5min (video): https://youtu.be/fxHISR7lVbI
- Long Version ~30min (video): https://youtu.be/Cc07jiDgnME
- Throwing myself into work was helpful to get me through this past week.
- I was able to knock out the rest of Wave 1. All galleries have been updated.
- I got the first Wave 2 deck knocked waaay ahead of schedule.
- We added the Early Bird foil after we had a round of pre-launch backers. An HTML error is preventing the early bird incentive from populating in their pledge breakdowns. In the case of CAV Goon (our example in the video), we went in from the creator’s side and checked. The early bird is showing up on our end for everybody who should be getting it. In the event any other errors occur, we have time stamps for every backer for when you signed up with us. If you made it in before the early bird window closed, we have you covered. If we fund, you will absolutely get your free foil promo card.
- What is happening with First Edition availability?
- We understand that there is still a demand for our original collection, so we are going to keep the First Edition bundle live on TheGameCrafter for the foreseeable future.
- HeroDraft may be updated with the 2nd edition and become available again in late winter or early spring 2024.
- Armor Sets and Blueprints are being reworked as part of Masterclass. The original decks will remain available as part of the first edition bundle.
- Mini Loot and Dungeon Security will not need any updates and will remain available.
- Vintage Loot The Room will also remain available, though this deck is formatted for old-school 90’s style dungeon crawling.
- What is going to happen with 2nd Edition availability if we do not fund?
- We simply will not go to physical mass production of any of our decks, at least not at this time.
- Wave 1 English decks will go live for print-on-demand between now and January 1st.
- They will be available on TheGameCrafter, and Printerstudio.com (based out of the UK).
- The Guidebook, once the digital copy is ready, will go live on DriveThruRPG.
- We’d like to do a “printer-friendly” version and a full graphics version. These would both be printable on normal-sized paper.
- We just discovered DTRPG has print-on-demand capability! We are looking into offering our cards and the book through DTRPG as well.
- Before we commit to their print-on-demand, we are going to give them a test run to check queue times and quality.
- What about the dice?
- Classic White dice are already in production. When they come in, we’ll put them up for sale through Etsy.
- We MIGHT do a follow-up campaign for JUST the dice.
- Though it’s hard to compete with Allied Express pushing their bootlegs. They even did a glow-in-the-dark set using the pirated Hasbro icons. Granted ours are waaaay nicer, but its hard to beat their price point.
- What about the digital decks?
- Digital decks will be formatted for print-at-home. If you want them produced professionally, please use one of our supported printers.
- We have a Plan B that requires our digital content…
- We will be launching a digital-only follow-up campaign. We may stay with Backerkit or try Kickstarter again. Gamefound was recommended, so we are looking at that platform as well.
- Without physical production, we can set a much lower funding goal. This goal will cover legal, admin, and art fees first.
- After that, our focus is to raise funds to pay for translation. Want digital decks (followed by print-on-demand) in Spanish? French or German? Pitch in and help us pay for those translations!
- Expanding into D20 systems.
- Our primary intended game system is clearly D6-based. Conversion is possible to other systems, but not everybody is willing or able to do that.
- So, we are exploring the possibility of doing D20 versions of some of our decks. This will broaden our audience and increase support for Advanced Armory as a whole.
Regards,
~Girot
