Project Update: Just Over a Day Left – Final Stretch Goal Announced! And Celebration Live Stream
Hello!
With just over a day to go of this amazing campaign, you have unlocked the seventeenth stretch goal: the bonus digital adventure The Shadow Out of Fangorn. Thank you for your support!
To celebrate this, and to keep the momentum up throughout the end of the campaign, we have now added a final stretch goal – if we reach it, we will expand the Bestiary with rules for running encounters with seemingly unbeatable adversaries, where survival itself may be a victory. These rules will be written by Francesco Nepitello himself, and he describes them like this:
A Foe Beyond Any Of You
“I must hold the narrow way. Fly!”
Not every enemy in Middle-earth can be defeated by strength of arms. Some foes are simply too mighty, too terrible, or too ancient for even the bravest heroes to overcome in open battle. These are the Banes of Middle-earth, adversaries whose power is such that facing them may seem a hopeless endeavour.
Yet courage is not measured by victory alone. A desperate stand against overwhelming odds may buy precious time for companions to escape, while cunning, sacrifice, or the discovery of a hidden weakness may offer a path to victory where none seemed possible.
A Foe Beyond Any of You introduces new ways to portray encounters with these seemingly unbeatable adversaries, where survival itself may be a victory.
(We know that some of you asked for another dice set, and we did look into that but concluded that there is simply not enough time to plan out and clear another physical component so late in the campaign. And we really feel that this rules addition, should we reach it, is actually a more useful addition to the game.)
Keep pushing in the final 24 hours and we'll reach the final stretch goal too!
Oh, almost forgot – don't miss our finale celebration livestream when the campaign ends tomorrow! We go live at 8.40 pm CEST (7.40 UK time, 2.40 US Eastern, 11.40 am US Pacific) with lead designer Francesco Nepitello and project manager Tomas Härenstam and keep going until the very end! Join us for the final battle!
Fell deeds awake: fire and slaughter!
Spear shall be shaken, shield be splintered,
a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises!
Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor!
