It's happened. The campaign flatlined hard on day 5, and I don't see a way we're gonna climb out of this hole.
Doing an official relaunch of the project on 10th (or next week in general).
I'm cutting the scope of the art commissions, and instead I'm focusing on the layout efforts and finishing the game. If we climb to similar numbers as the original goal, the original scope of the commissions is fulfilled before any other stretch goals.
I had completely forgotten about this. But, my original plan was to release this game in both Imperial and Metric measurement systems.
You can now take a free add-on to specify which measurements you want your physical game in. Digital files will be sent for both. If an add-on hasn't been added to your physical game pledge, I will send an email to ask for a clarification.
Metric version is also 1/1 with a standard grid (1 square is 1 meter), meaning metric measurements are slightly shorter than the imperial measurements. However, since these are two completely separated rulesets, this doesn't actually matter since the internal consistency will be the same.
It's been three days, and we've managed to get a little over 3k€ in the bag, equaling roughly 22% of the funding goal. It doesn't sound bad on the face of it, but by general metrics, this has been determined to not be enough.
The calculated average trend of the campaign, the average going to 14k
The data for the approximated trends for the campaign are not looking good. As you can see from the image, the current trend is falling below the funding goal, as the amount of pledges has basically plateaued.
So, what can I do about this? Well, I am not enthusiastic about cutting back the funding goal of the game and doing the rest of the original scope as the initial stretch goals, but that might be necessary. I'm also considering a price cut for the PDF version of the game (down to 20€), either for the duration of the Backerkit campaign or indefinitely, and providing a free code of Pathwarden for all people who pledge Digital Warden or greater, in case these actions would stoke some traffic to the game.
Changing the funding goal would require relaunching the project, which would cancel all of the pledges made for the game. It's a risky move, but it might be necessary.
I'm opening a discussion on the topic here, and I'm taking suggestions for what to do with the current situation of the campaign. Any actions I take would not happen immediately, I'm only preparing for the eventuality where the campaign falls off the cliff. There is also a possibility of a meteoric rise through a signal boost or simply doing one of the less radical steps, but for now, I'm simply opening the door for this discussion.
NOTE: If Pathwarden is added to the pledges as a freebie, anyone who has bought Pathwarden during the campaign would be eligible for a refund in case it would be covered by their pledge.
