We're back with another fulfilment update. As with the last update, we're breaking everything down by region so feel free to skip to your region below.

The US ship docked as expected on April 18. We made it through customs without issues and the container made it's way to the distribution facility as expected. UPS has been scanning packages into local systems and sending out packages for delivery. Most tracking numbers have started receiving updates stating the package has "departed from the facility" and many US backers have received their pledge.

Keep an eye on your tracking for updates, but we expect most orders to be delivered within the next 7 to 14 days depending on UPS delivery times.

The Canadian vessel arrived on time, unfortunately the 'routine' customs inspection took far longer than expected. We were able to upload tracking numbers for Canadian backers and all pledges are with CAPost. CAPost is currently scanning and delivering the pledges so keep an eye on your tracking for updates. 

The UK ship was slightly delayed on its long journey around Africa and docked on the 30th of April. The container is currently being unloaded and will go through customs. Once through customs your pledges will get scanned into local systems and your tracking will begin to update. We expect UK backers will start receiving their pledges in the next 1-3 weeks!

The European ship continues its journey and, at this point, we do not have any adjustments to the expected arrival date of May 9. We'll provide more information as we receive it.

We have sent out a second batch of air freight orders to Oceania and Rest of World backers. There are still a few orders, in particular a few unlucky backers from New Zealand who have not been included in this batch, but will be in the next batch leaving soon. In particular for Rest of World backers, please ensure that if you are contacted to pay duties and are from countries such as Brazil, you will need to do so in order to receive you pledge.

Hey everyone, we're back with another fulfilment update. At this point we can break down everything by region so feel free to skip to your region below! 

As mentioned last update we secured space on a ship due to depart March 24. We successfully loaded 2 containers worth of pledges onto the COSCO DENMARK 058E which you can track here: https://www.vesselfinder.com/vessels/details/9516478. Unfortunately, this ship's timeline has shifted slightly and is now due to arrive in port April 18 instead of April 12. At that point containers will be unloaded, head through customs and to the distribution centre where they will be scanned into local postal systems.

As such, we expect your tracking to start receiving updates from between April 20-25, assuming we don't get delayed on unloading or going through customs. We'll provide some more updates shortly after we dock to ensure there's a clear view of the timeline upon arrival.

The Canadian vessel arrived on April 1st and the container is currently undergoing a routine customs inspection. As mentioned previously, all Canadian packages will need to be relabeled once they reach the distribution centre. At this point we will receive the tracking and upload it straight to BackerKit. As such, please make sure you keep your eye out for an email containing your tracking from BackerKit soon! Customs inspections usually take a couple of days, but can take longer depending on the current queue at the port. With any luck, many of you will start receiving your pledges within the next 2 weeks!

The vessel name we provided last time was unfortunately just the feeder ship which transferred the container to the final vessel bound for the UK. So if you've been following along with vessel finder, sorry for the confusion!

The final UK vessel name is the CMA CGM LOUVRE which you can track here: https://www.vesselfinder.com/vessels/details/9839143. It's due to arrive in port on April 23 after having to take the long way around Africa.

 

The final vessel name for European backers is EDITH MAERSK 412W which can be tracked here: https://www.vesselfinder.com/vessels/details/9321548. It is unfortunately not due to arrive until May 9. We're very sorry for this delay, but given the ongoing Red Sea Crisis trade lanes have been particularly difficult to find space on and once space is found it is a substantially delayed trip. As mentioned last time, the pledges will need to be relabeled once they arrive in Hamburg and as such we cannot provide tracking until then.

The Oceanic region has been sent via airfreight due to the low volume. As such, many have already received tracking and some lucky backers have had their pledge delivered already. These pledges will continue to be sent out in batches via airfreight as space becomes available and we will do our best to upload tracking numbers as quickly as possible. The local courier networks should also be sending you an email once they have your package, so make sure to stay on top of your emails. If you haven’t received your tracking yet, do not fret, we just need to do these in shipments in batches as space becomes available.

We're back with another fulfilment update. At this point we can break down everything by region so feel free to skip to your region below! 

Unfortunately, we got pushed out of our original booking. However, we have managed to confirm space on a vessel departing on March 24. This vessel is due to arrive April 12. We will provide tracking numbers and a vessel name as soon as we are loaded onto the vessel to ensure no confusion.

We can thankfully confirm that all the Canadian pledges were picked up from the warehouse and loaded onto the ship expected to depart March 14. The vessel name for this trip is OOCL SAN FRANCISCO 179E and you can follow the journey of the ship here if you would like: https://www.vesselfinder.com/vessels/details/9199268.

As mentioned last update, we will need to relabel the packages once they reach Canada, so we cannot provide you useful tracking information until that relabel occurs. The shipping vessel is expected to arrive at port on April 1 and we will update everyone’s tracking as soon as we can. 

UK tracking numbers have been uploaded, but there won’t be many updates until the orders arrive in the UK. The UK pledges are on the vessel COSCO FRANCE | 060E and you can track the journey here if you would like to follow along: https://www.vesselfinder.com/vessels/details/9516416.

We managed to get the space we booked meaning the pledges departed on March 12. Unfortunately, due to the Red Sea Crisis, the journey is substantially longer than usual. As such, the expected arrival date in port for UK pledges is April 22. We’re sorry for this delay, but there is unfortunately nothing we can do about this situation.
 

Unfortunately, the ship we were expecting to be loading your pledges on decided to skip Hong Kong as it had reached capacity in loadings from China. As such we have sent the European pledges to China in order to transfer onto the next available ship at the origin port. This extra leg has caused delays, but ensures that we can be loaded onto a vessel expected to depart March 26.  If all goes to plan, this ship should arrive at the destination port May 5. 

We’ll provide the vessel name as soon as we have confirmation of loading. We’re sorry that this delay has occurred, but ships bound for the EU have been unexpectedly cancelling their docking at Hong Kong recently due to the decreased supply caused by the Red Sea Crisis which we cannot control. The packages will need to be relabelled upon arrival, so we will provide the tracking numbers as soon as they become available once that occurs.

We're back with another fulfilment update. At this point we have some more detailed information and can break down everything by region so feel free to skip to your region below! 

Orders are ready to go and we're just waiting on the exact vessel confirmation. Assuming our booking is accepted we are expected to depart on March 19. We will upload tracking numbers for your orders as soon as they're received from our shipping partner, but as a warning, these numbers will not update until your pledge arrives in the final mile warehouse. Once the container is accepted by the final mile warehouse, they will get scanned into the local network and you should receive your pledge shortly after. We'll let you know if the departure date moves at all.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the Canadian postal system, we will need to relabel your pledges once they arrive in Canada. This means we can't provide you with your tracking until your orders arrive in the Canadian distribution warehouse. Currently we have booked space on a boat expected to depart on March 14. We will confirm the final details through an update as soon as we are provided them and give you the vessel name etc. to follow along in the journey.

UK backers should be receiving tracking in the next week. We're booked on a ship expected to depart on March 13 and your tracking won't need to be relabelled upon arrival. We'll provide an update as soon as the vessel departs so you can follow along on the journey. Once you receive your tracking don't worry if you don't see any updates on it, as tracking numbers can't be updated until your pledge arrives in the destination country.

We have booked space on a ship expected to depart on March 10. Your pledges will need to be relabelled once they arrive in the destination warehouse in Germany so we cannot provide your tracking numbers until the container is unloaded from the ship. We will provide vessel details as soon as the orders depart to ensure you can stay up to date with where your pledge is.

Last time we left you we expected to have items shipping from our manufacturers to our fulfilment partners by the 14th of January. Unfortunately, our printing partner was unable to ship the items out until the 19th of January and it usually takes about a week to truck things from our printer in China to our fulfilment partner in Hong Kong. 

All the items arrived with our fulfilment partner on the 29th of January, a few days later than expected, and were inbounded with the warehouse over the course of that week. Inbounding items means adding the product SKUs to the warehouse database, measuring and weighing each item and counting the items to ensure the right amounts of everything have been manufactured (ensuring nothing was short-shipped).

Since then the fulfilment team have been hard at work packing items into shipping boxes and making sure all the addons are added to the orders appropriately while simultaneously searching for containers to load the packages onto. Everything we need to send the packages has been sourced and at this stage we're waiting for the next sailing schedule to be released on the 18th of February to lock down some space on ships. 

As always, there's something going on in the shipping industry which makes life more difficult. The Red Sea Crisis has caused major issues in the global shipping landscape and moved demand to alternative shipping lanes. As a small player in the shipping industry all we can do is work with our fulfilment partners to try and find space on ships as fast as possible. This is particularly evident in the European lanes as ships now need to avoid the Red Sea and Suez Canal and must go around Africa in order to reach Europe from Hong Kong. These delays have spurred increased demand which is making it more difficult to secure space on the ships.

Additionally, Chinese New Year increases demand on shipping vessels immediately before and after. However, with it coming to a close in the coming days our fulfilment partners will be doing everything they can to secure us space as quickly as possible. As of the end of this week our fulfilment partners will have completely returned to work and operating at 100%.

Due to the increased demand on shipping vessels we're looking to send via airfreight for some regions where possible. In particular, we're hoping to send European packages via air if possible to avoid the additional delays caused by the longer trip around Africa. This is a substantially more expensive option, but we will not be passing any of these costs onto backers.

Our fulfilment partners have estimated that we can expect tracking for all orders by the 15th of March. As always, this is the best estimate they can provide at this point in time and estimates are subject to change.
