Project Update: Shipping nearly complete & Aluminum Body upgrade opportunity
That leaves another few backers waiting on rim sizes that are currently at plating. To our surprise, we had an unusually high number of orders for 660 and 614 diameter rims, which had been made in December, but not all were plated. Those should be back in our shop in approximately 10 days or less. If you are waiting on an order for a 614H rim and would like to switch to a different 614 variation to get quicker shipping, please contact us at 303.657.2747.
I have two Titanium mouthpiece bodies remaining, which I will offer to our backers in the form of a complete SpectraTone Red, Yellow, or Blue mouthpiece for $350. If you want one in Stainless Steel, the price is $325. Email me by Wednesday (or order with link below) before they are gone forever. Oh yeah, did I mention all SS and Ti body styles will be retired once inventory is sold out. This is due to the complex production process that is too costly in smaller batches. I made approximately 15% more bodies in SS and Ti than were originally ordered through Backerkit. You can see remaining inventory here.
And finally, I want to announce the debut of standalone LSLT (Laser Sintered Lattice Topology) Mouthpiece Bodies in ALUMINUM. I will be offering these to all SpectraTone/5MM mouthpiece owners for HALF PRICE next week. Again, once these are sold out, they will not be offered again. Your next opportunity for a LSLT solution will come with SpectraTone Green in Autumn.
Thanks again for your amazing support, feedback, and musicianship!

Project Update: Timeline on remaining SpectraTone Red shipments
The process has been slower than expected as approximately 35% of our backers have requested some kind of change to their order after we closed the surveys, which has delayed all shipments. For this reason, we will no longer consider any future requests for order changes or additions. We really want to ship your mouthpieces!
Here's what you can expect for the remaining SpectraTone Red shipping schedule.
March 12th - remaining Brass variations with no upgrades
March 26th - all SS variations with no upgrades
April 2nd - all Ti variations with no upgrades
April 9th - all orders with upgrades
We will be offering one final option to purchase a new SpectraTone Red and related accessories at a very nice discount. We're doing this to give your friends, colleagues, and students a chance to get in on the fun.
Be sure to get on our mailing list at Harrelson for the one-day public release on April 1st!
Project Update: Stainless Steel and Brass mouthpieces are done!
We sent tracking information to each client at the time of shipping. If you have not received tracking, your order is likely awaiting a custom add-on option to be made and included with your shipment.
We are waiting on surveys from ten backers. Please keep in mind that we cannot ship your reward until we know which Rim you need. It is highly recommended that you complete your survey today to prevent forgetting. We just had a client from our SpectraTone Yellow campaign email us asking for the survey, which was from two years ago! Don't be the person who puts it off for years.
And finally, we are opening up SpectraTone Red orders to the public with Stainless Steel becoming available for one hour only, next Monday night from 7 to 8pm MDT. If you know someone who could benefit from SpectraTone, please send them our way or to www.whyharrelson.com.
We'll be in touch next week once we have a firm timeline on remaining Titanium and add-on shipments.
Thank you,
Jason, Jen, Christine
Project Update: We have started shipping + Rim diameter questions
However, we have noticed a large percentage of rim diameter errors with many people telling us they play small mouthpieces while ordering very large sizes. To be clear, you can save yourself a lot of time and energy by reading the mouthpiece comparison chart, and choosing the best size. If you are currently playing a small mouthpiece with success, then we recommend staying on a small size.
Remember, at Harrelson, we measure the actual Rim diameter where it meets the cup, as this is the actual diameter. Most other manufacturers measure the high point of the rim, which results in an inaccurate and inflated number not representative of the actual size due to inner radius variations. This means that any manufacturer using a high point value for a specific size is likely overstating the diameter by 40-50 thousandths of an inch.
For example: our 680 rim is larger in diameter than any rim we have ever measured, so it is unlikely you need to order something larger than 640 unless you play on very large rims.
Another example: our 614 rim is the exact diameter of pretty much all common 3 diameter rims from Bach and related copies.
One more note: Almost all Jet Tone and lead-type mouthpieces measure .590 and smaller. It is highly unusual to find a mouthpiece measuring larger than .590 that is shallow and used for lead work. A .590 is the equivalent of a Bach 7.
Thanks for listening, and hopefully learning! We really want to ship you the correct rim size, but it is up to you to read the mouthpiece chart at https://www.whyharrelson.com/rim-sizes.html to do this correctly. We cannot exchange rims once they have shipped.
Thank you again,
Jason and Jen
Project Update: Last Day to complete your survey
Please complete your Backerkit survey by 3pm to get your mouthpiece as quickly as possible.
Thank you,

Project Update: Zoom LIVE Video Sessions - Q&A today and tomorrow
Today at 12:30pm Mountain time, I will host a live Zoom session to answer your questions on SpectraTone Red upgrades and options. I've already worked with many backers on choosing a rim diameter and shape over the past week. If you did not back SpectraTone Red, but are considering buying one on the April 1st public release, this session could help you make your selections.
Remember, we will close all orders on Tuesday. If you miss this deadline, you miss this production run!
Your credit card will be charged for shipping and any upgrades this Wednesday.
We will begin shipping next Monday!
Join my Zoom session Sunday and Monday at 12:30pm here:

Project Update: It's time to complete your surveys!
Despite providing updates showing photos and videos of the lattice, color, and finishing options, many backers are now lost. I recommend going back and reading the last two updates that give you everything you need.
Here are links to make this easier...
Final photos
Lattice designs
Remember, we're going to sell out of many of these upgrade options today as they are limited.
And finally, there is a survey question that allows you to note anything we may have missed.
Thank you!
Jason, Jen, Christine
Project Update: Final photos of all SpectraTone variations are here!
Here's why it was worth the wait. We are offering you the choice of any of the 3 lattice structures AND 3 different colors. PLUS there's a 4th option that incorporates 5 new lattice designs, one in each fin available as a standalone Body upgrade to work with the SpectraTone/5MM components you already own.
I'll be filming a YouTube video exploring all the variations tomorrow, so be sure to watch this before making your final selections.
And finally, because all of you helped us bring these new technologies together to create a very high efficiency mouthpiece design that weighs so much less, all add-ons have been significantly discounted.
Oh wait, I forgot to mention that there's a very limited number of Body add-ons in Aluminum, which was not part of the original plan. We didn't think Aluminum would work, but it's perfect for this application.
Okay, that's all I have for you today. We're so excited to hear from you and see your surveys. All SpectraTone Red Brass mouthpiece components have been made, so we'll begin shipping those as soon as the surveys are closed later this month.

I want the rim to be size 594, which I believe is Jason’s custom rim size. Besides that size, I would like to have the contour of the 1SB Super Chops rim. Can that be made? I currently have a 614H rim and spectrum cup R614B. This 614H rim makes the mouthpiece feel like it's a big mouthpiece like a 1.5 Bach mouthpiece. Feels uncomforatble in playing lead.
Project Update: Pledge Manager coming next week
I've been experimenting with color anodizing titanium, and flame coloring steel bodies.
If all goes as planned, there will be the option to add these upgrades, which is why I'm a few days late launching the pledge manager.
I'll also be releasing a few of the original prototypes for purchase in aluminum, translucent red, and other variations, which are very limited. So be sure to return your pledge manager early to grab one of these original prototypes at a great price. You can see some of these variations in this video.
And finally, I will offer upgrades and extra body add-ons one time only with a nice discount.
I expect to send the pledge manager by Wednesday of next week.
Thanks again,
Jason
Project Update: It's time to vote on the final Hybrid Body design
I am making some variations of these in aluminum and a very high end resin as well, so watch for these both in a future update and as a limited edition add-on in your pledge managers (in early January).
Happy Holidays!
Jason
Project Update: Final 3 designs for Ti & SS
