Project FAQ
None of the games in the MemoryCore Anthology are officially licensed games based on existing IPs. They are homages to a variety of different games from the 32-bit era.
The game is available in English only.
While we don't rule out translating MemoryCore, as of today we haven't planned localized versions of the game, especially considering the product complexity compared to traditional TTRPGs.
It's always difficult to predict how a crowdfunding project will perform and whether it will reach the scale required for a retail release. If MemoryCore achieves satisfactory results, it may eventually become available through retail channels. However, the cost at retail would almost certainly be higher than what we're able to offer during the campaign, as direct-to-backer sales allow us to provide significantly better prices. Should the game reach retail, prices are likely to be closer to the crossed-out MSRP shown in the reward tiers—or potentially even higher, depending on market conditions and distribution costs.
No generative AI was used in MemoryCore. The game was made by highly talented human artists and creatives.
We expect to deliver the game in Q3 2027.
MemoryCore is carefully designed to minimize bookkeeping and deliver a true “power on and play” experience. Physical components such as rewritable Character Boards, Memory Cards, Exploration Map, Tokens, Markers, and the Game Disc are all integral to how the game is meant to be played in its intended play experience. This is a deliberate product decision, made to support fast, ready-to-play sessions without setup friction. If all these components had to be printed and assembled by players for online play, the “press start and jump into the game” feeling would be significantly reduced. For this reason, we chose not to offer a PDF-only version of MemoryCore as a core pledge option. That said, we are players too, and we understand that many groups play exclusively online for logistical reasons. Therefore, each physical copy of any game in the anthology will include a QR code granting free access to all digital files (Game Rulebook, Game Disc, Exploration Map, Memory Cards, and Character Boards) for those who prefer to play online, and the same applies for the User Manual. At the same time, we are exploring the possibility of bringing MemoryCore to a VTT platform that can properly support the system, while preserving the intended play experience.
The Base pledge is meant to be a curated entry point into MemoryCore, and we specifically selected SOLID STATE MACHINE + BLOODSONG because together they showcase a wide range of what the line can offer, while also representing experiences that are generally more approachable and proven enjoyable for TTRPG players (stealth and dungeon crawling). Other genres in the anthology, such as PvP Fighting Games, Survival Horror, or Racing, can offer more niche or divisive experiences depending on the group. Keeping the bundles fixed also helps us simplify logistics, reduce production complexity, and keep prices lower for all backers. That said, every other game will still be available à la carte as an add-on, and the MemoryCore box across all reward tiers is already designed to contain the full anthology of all 6 games.
You’ll receive a free pin and the €2 will be added as credit in the Pledge Manager phase of the project.

Yes. Check out the PLAY. REMIX. CREATE. section of the campaign.
We'd genuinely love for MemoryCore to become a playground for the community's creativity. We want to see players hack it, remix it, build on top of it, and create things we could never have imagined ourself. We'd absolutely love to give creators the tools to design their own games, cartridges, settings, and experiences for MemoryCore. The challenge is that third-party licensing is a fairly complex legal topic, and we haven't yet found a framework that makes us comfortable saying, "Yes, this is exactly how we're going to do it." We haven't worked on one on previous games, but we're trying to bridge that gap now. So while we can't announce a licensing program today, please know that the desire is very much there. We're actively thinking about it, discussing it, and looking at ways to make MemoryCore as creator-friendly as possible.
We dedicated a separate update to each of the 6 games in the anthology. In the “Updates” tab on the game’s BackerKit page, you can browse through all of them to learn more about the characters and the unique mechanics of each individual game.
We strongly hope so. Ultimately, it will depend on how the first anthology performs economically, which is why your support during this campaign means so much to us!

BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
