๐ New Pin Reveal: Jรถrmungandr's Ouroboros! ๐
I meant to reveal some rough sketches of the Community Poll Winners Jรถrmungandr and Deathmare pin designs the day the campaign ended, but after my first few drawings that day, I just wasnโt happy with the majority of what I had sketched on my iPad. I got frustrated and decided to sleep on it. I spent all day yesterday mostly concentrating on the Jรถrmungandr pin design because I was starting to nail down a design I actually liked.
โ๏ธ Here's some of my better sketch concepts out of the bunch before I got to my final design layout~ Looking back now, i actually really like this 1st sketch as a chibi mini pin or something, future pin to unlock in the Survey Add-on Shop? ;D
Maybe this 1st chibi mini pin can show off the Asian side of the world? ๐๐ฏ๐ต

I really wanted both the ouroboros tail biting concept and the globe shown in the same design. So after coming up with some more sketches, I came up with this design I was super happy with and finalized the lineart to get a final pin quote! The last thing I'm working on is adding some ribbed horizontal underbelly scales, so I'll show that edit in a future update! :)
I'm still talking with my pin manufacturer locking down the pin specs, but here's what I'm thinking:

Jรถrmungandr's Backstory:
In Norse mythology, Jรถrmungandr, also known as the Midgard Serpent or World Serpent. He is a monstrous sea serpent, son of Loki and brother to Fenrir the Wolf. A prophecy claimed that he would bring about the end for the gods during Ragnarรถk, so Odin cast the young serpent into the ocean surrounding Midgard (the world of humans).
In the Ocean, Jรถrmungandr grew to such an enormous size that he could encircle the entire Earth and grasp his own tail in his mouth symbolizing the ouroboros: a symbol of rebirth, eternity, and the universe's interconnectedness of all things.
He is destined to remain in the ocean until Ragnarรถk: a series of catastrophic events, including a great battle, that leads to the destruction of the world and the death of many gods. It is during Ragnarรถk that Jรถrmungandr will emerge to battle Thor, ultimately leading to both of their deaths.

Should we go with a classic green snake, or should we go with a special light teal color inspired by the game God of War: Ragnarรถk? Or maybe we should just unlock both?? lol You decide!!

When it comes to drawing speed, I'm not the quickest artist because I erase and sketch on top of so many layers until I basically sculpt the final look I'm envisioning. So I'm going to work on the Deathmare pin design over the weekend so I can create something I really love/want to show off to you all! Keep an eye out on the next update for that~
Also just incase I haven't mentioned it yet, you'll be able to choose the Jรถrmungandr and Deathmare pin designs in your survey! If you need to add more pins onto to your pledge, no worries! Both designs will be available in the Backerkit Survey Add-on Shop at a discounted cost~
