The first week of our campaign has concluded and thanks to you folks, it's been an excellent one! Fire Sale 2 has funded and has already hit its first stretch goal, with solid progress towards our second!
So far you'll be getting your full zine alongside a hacking network meant to integrate into the hacking rules found with the Mothership Hacker's Handbook, a thoroughly underrated official supplement that more modules could stand to pull from in my opinion. Up next on the docket is our first Art Expansion, which is code for "i'll do the illustrations myself to save some cash, but I'd love to get a more
Now before we get to the weekly Vault Spotlight, I wanted to drop a quick cross-promo for another project that JUST LAUNCHED from the excellent folks over at One-Eyed Werebear Gaming!
Never face the darkness alone again.
It Followed Me Homeis a 28-page module that dives into the world of pets and companions for sci-fi horror. Cling to hope knowing these pets and companions are designed to add to the dread of deep space, not buff it away. All our creations are customizable and complete with numerous options to make your pet your own.
This week, we will be taking a look at two Artifacts from the vault! Artifacts are singular, esoteric objects that exhibit properties ranging from the alien and technologically-advanced to the straight-up supernatural. They range greatly in size and function - while their powers can be among the greatest on the shelves, they can also carry the most danger.
Is Bonnie a friend? A foe? What is beyond that window, and what happens if you try to break through (maybe you end up in a surprise session of Fatherfog)!
From a design standpoint, Artifacts are a great place for me to mess around with ideas that don't fit cleanly into the other categories, but perhaps don't rise to the level of a Secret in terms of wildness (which gives you a benchmark for how nutty Secrets might be). You can never quite trust what you're dealing with when you hunt for an artifact, but if you play it smart, they could be the key to your survival and extraction from the facility! That double-edged, interpretive design makes for a lot of fun and unexpected moments at the table - so the more of that I can layer in, the better! That's all I've got for you this week! I'll be checking back in next week with our next-most-popular item category for the Vault Spotlight and whatever other updates might arise. See you then!
