First of all, I want to sincerely apologize for the long silence and the lack of updates. You all deserved much better communication from me, and I'm deeply sorry for that.
Until the end of last year, I went through a series of medical issues that put me in an incredibly difficult position, both emotionally and financially. Because I did not have proper health insurance coverage in Germany during that period, I accumulated a significant amount of medical debt that I had to deal with before I could move forward (and I would never think to ask for backers for more funding than what they paid for over my own personal issues). While recovering, I was embarassed with the situation and did now know how to properly explain until things got better... At the same time, I was still working on fulfilling projects that had started production before Little Hops of Hope.
I wish I had communicated more throughout this process. Instead, I found myself feeling completely overwhelmed and struggling to make progress while trying to solve one problem after another. That is not an excuse for my lack of communication, but I wanted to be honest with you about what happened.
I finally have some good news to share.
Now that I have been able to resolve those financial issues, production of the Little Hops of Hope pins is officially in its final stages. I know this update is long overdue, and I am incredibly grateful for everyone who has remained patient despite the long delay.
I also want to make a clear commitment to all of you: if the pins have not started being shipped out by November, every backer will receive a full refund. I take full responsibility for this project, and I want you to know that I am committed to either delivering the rewards you backed or making things right.
I know that trust is earned through actions, not words. From this point forward, I will do my best to provide more consistent updates so you know exactly where the project stands.
I know a 1 year delay is on fulfillment is far from ideal. Still, I thank you for your patience, your understanding, and for believing in Little Hops of Hope despite this horribly difficult chapter. I truly appreciate every single one of you, and I'm looking forward to finally getting these little bunnies into your hands.
You can skip to the paragraph marked “Campaign Update” if you just want to know about the campaign progress. I want to start by explaining my situation, because of course I owe you transparency and an apology for my recent absence. I don’t want to overwhelm you with my personal struggles, but I feel it’s important to explain why updates have been delayed.
Over the past 4 months, I’ve been dealing with some serious health challenges. As I mentioned before, I had complications from a poorly inserted IUD, which led to persistent infections. Unfortunately, I didn’t respond well to antibiotics here in Germany, and despite my best efforts to keep going through freelancing and running the campaign, my condition worsened. I became anemic from months of ongoing infection and exhaustion, and the situation became overwhelming.
After careful consideration, I decided to return to Brazil, my home country, to receive treatment there. I felt more comfortable being with family and accessing a clinic where I could have more continuous care. The treatments I pursued included IV antibiotics and iron infusions to address both the infections and my anemia, along with careful monitoring for potential long-term complications. It was an emotionally and physically intense period because I was scared about the possibility of serious fertility issues in the future, and it took a lot out of me to navigate these fears while being away from home.
I also want to be honest about the challenges I face as a small independent artist. I run all of my projects alone. From creating the designs to managing the campaigns, surveys, updates, and fulfillment etc. I don’t have third-party support to help with shipping or campaign management, which sometimes makes delays unavoidable when unexpected situations like this happen.
Campaign Update
I’m finally back in Germany, and I’m relieved to say that things are starting to get better. I’ve kept you waiting far longer than I ever intended, and I am deeply sorry for the delay and any worry it may have caused. I will be working on sending out surveys now and sharing pictures of the pin samples next month. Unfortunately, fulfillment (shipping rewards) will be delayed to January 2026.
I want to reassure you that if I come across any further serious medical issues that could affect fulfillment, I will provide refunds to every backer. Your support means the world to me, and I want to make sure you feel safe and taken care of no matter what happens. I’m also considering the possibility of re-launching the campaign at some point in the future for those who wish to remain part of it.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your patience, understanding, and continued support. I know waiting has not been easy, and I am so grateful for each of you. I can’t wait to share these pins with you. They are meant to bring comfort and joy, and I hope they do just that when they arrive.
For the longest time I've been wanting to give you all one last big "thank you" for funding my little project - those bunnies hold a very special place in my heart and I hope they will hold in yours too - especially once you have them in your hands! I'll work my hardest so that the pins are the best quality possible.
For the past couple of weeks I've been in and out of the hospital as I recently suffered an infection due to a poorly inserted IUD, so my projects suffered a little delay this past month. It's been difficult but things are a lot less painful now - I swear the bunnie's sayings brought me a little comfort here and there haha!
Thankfully I'm back on working full time since Friday and I really thank your patience. Rest assured, I'll make everything work out with our pins! As a new creator here on Backerkit, I really want to gain credibility and support on this platform so that I can bring many cute creations to life :)
Shipping will be charged later as I'll be using a fulfillment center, so the surveys might take a couple extra days (since I need to directly ask to Backerkit's staff for this feature), but it's for the best, the pricing has been fluctuating a lot and I will make sure it barely affects you at all <3
