Launch is getting closer much too quickly. Time to preview some designs!
We're starting with Watership down because I have some extras for this one.
Its in the round up but I'm posting it again, we have our Pinquest 2026 freebie. Its a 1.5" mini pin, and there is a chance the manu will request we change the pattern for screen print but we're going to try and get it in metal. Back at least three participating campaigns to get a free mini pin from every Pinquest campaign that you back. There are some really good ones too.
The pattern is inspired by the puffin classic hardback edition of Watership Down. We continued that on and turned it into our book covers for this campaign;
Its off centre because of the spiral binding. We'll have both a5 and A6 versions of sticker books and notebooks with blank, graph, dot grid and lined paper (you'll be able to choose at the survey stage which kind of paper). We'll also have the A5 PVC leatherettes, which have an elastic closure band on them. They don't have A6 PVC ones for some reason.
Also matching washi! I really want to do a version with gold but sadly the min quantity is 100 rolls and I just can't justify it lmao. One day! We might do a hot pressed gold foil post card print though.
The standard size pin for this book is Bigwig/Thlayli. I just love the whole character arc he went through... And you're going to see as we go forward I have a soft spot for the asshole good guys haha. This pin will be 2" high, hard enamel and with screen printed details. I didn't shade him because the colouration is so subtle I think it would get lost. It does make the pin seem quite simple overall, but I think it works with the shapes.
Lastly, our early bird freebie is the mini pin of the black rabbit. This is 1.5" hard enamel, with layers of screen print (same as our other skull pins). The ending of this book will never not make me cry, and its because of the compassionate and understanding, but inevitable representation of death. As a kid it had a huge impact on me, especially since as disabled as I am, it was something that was discussed a lot about me, but never really to me.
Anyway I highly recommend Watership Down to everyone, although prepare for emotional trauma. Also the audiobook is brilliant, its read by Peter Capaldi (yes, Dr Who). His Bigwig voice is amazing, and Keehar is very funny.
Keep your suggestions coming! The only hard and fast rule I have is that it has to be a book/series I've read. We've already got The Animals of Farthing Wood, Warrior Cats, DCC and the Deptford Mice. Another DCC pin is in the works (a big 2.5" one), and I've sketched up a Redwall design next. We ruled it so everyone who made the suggestion before we confirm it gets a feather so, everyone who said Redwall before this point, that's you. Sadly I never read any Tamora Pierce (T_T). I hear I really missed out on that front. My TBR list is going to go through the roof after this :).
Stay tuned everyone! I'm going to try to get previews out for all the designs before launch because I want to yap about them.
