This Is Not A Ladybug: An Illustrated Guide to Mimicry
By popular demand, I'm doing another bug book, this time about mimicry! Learn about bugs that pretend to be other things, either to scare away predators or get closer to their prey.
This Is Not A Ladybug is an illustrated introduction to mimicry that shows animals side-by-side with the things they mimic.
Did you know that some spiders mimic the colors and spots of a ladybug? Or that some flies pretend to be wasps by having stripes and flying like them? Or that there are caterpillars out there that look like snakes? They do this to trick predators into thinking that they taste bad or are dangerous! This will be my second book and will complement Insects A to Z. After learning about insects, why not learn about one of the secrets to their success as well as some other animals who use it, too?
