Orains and Nadia have found the mythical, magical collars belonging to Neptune's cat. And before you ask, yes, it’s that Neptune, the mythical Roman god of the oceans. The problem is, the collars didn’t come with an instruction manual, and Orains needs to figure out the powers behind each one. This collection, Becoming Neptune's Cat, contains short stories and novelettes featuring each of the magical cat collars, plus a few extra adventures along the way. 

The collars don’t come without complications, and without giving away too many spoilers, Orains realizes just what possession of the collars means, discovers that his caretaker's crush (a shark scientist) is also a mage, and tries to hook her up with the cute magical bookstore owner back in Fermata Bay. But Orains isn't the only one with secrets, and his caretaker may not be who he thought she was all along, and the shark mage and bookstore owner have a few tricks of their own.
