Hey all--thanks for bearing with us through this digital file distribution SNAFU. BackerKit told me not to send out a survey to backers due to the Exalted Funeral mega-pledge-manager that is starting to roll out right now. But they also said that you won't get notified about the digital rewards without a survey 😵💫 They did offer me a workaround that they say should work, so here it is:
I added the pdf for all of the digital tier backers as an "instant access" reward, which means that you immediately get access to the file.
The only problem is that, since the campaign is already over, you will not get an email notification from BackerKit letting you know that it's there or where to find it.
But...they tell me that you can navigate to your backer dashboard (looks like it's under "Your Pledges & Surveys" in the main navigation) and then click on Your Digital Rewards to find it.
You should also be able to find the file if you look in your actual pledge.
I have also added the file to DTRPG and delivered it through the BK integration tool. It sounds like it worked, but, once again, you will not receive any notification from BK or DTRPG that it's there. You have to log in and look for it in your library. If you use a different email address with DTRPG than BackerKit and you would like me to use that one instead, please respond to this update or message me directly with the info ([email protected]) and I'll make sure you get it.
Once again, I'm sorry for the confusion on this. I hadn't thought it would be such an ordeal to get pdfs to folks with the mega-pledge-manager system in place. But I think if we ever do one of these in the future we'll know how to handle it better from the beginning to avoid this from happening again.
The good news is that I got the printed proof the other day and it looks awesome! I'm really happy with how this zine turned out. We'll go ahead with the full print run and get these things sent over to the Exalted Funeral warehouse really soon!

The folks at BackerKit tell me that I cannot actually send out download links without running the survey...but that I should not do a survey since Exalted Funeral is running the mega-pledge-manager and it could mess things up. But they also said that I can add the pdf files directly to your My Digital Rewards library in BackerKit (you'll have access to the files from your dashboard, you just will not get an email with a download link.) I have directions on how to set it up, and it looks pretty straight forward, but it will probably take me a day or two to get everything in order. (It also sounds like some people are just finding the files in their DTRPG libraries once I add them that way--so you might look there as well.) I'll let you all know once the files have been added to your My Digital Rewards libraries and send some images of the front proof soon! Thanks for your patience and for hanging with us while we work through this system. It's a bit of a pain, but I think it will be worth it for everyone who backed multiple projects (or anyone who backed us internationally).

I'm still not certain when that is supposed to happen, but I'll let you know when I find out. It sounds like EF will be sending out surveys this week, so we might have more information soon.
Hey friends-- I have great news for you: I just pressed save on the final version of Emporium of the Damned and am currently uploading the files to the printer right now! Once I get my proof copy I'll give it a final once-over and then we can start printing. Meanwhile I'll be working on adding in all the links, bookmarks, and other interactive elements to the digital version. The plan is to get that pdf out to you all before the end of the month :) I am still waiting for instructions from Exalted Funeral as far as shipping, but it sounds like we are on track to have everything ready and out to you all on time. I'll keep you posted when I find out more about that. Phew! It's almost time for a break!
We've been hard at work over at Knight Owl HQ fulfilling our last two crowdfunding projects--Vanilla Adventure and Wytch Mountain--and now we're done with both of them! That means that we are ready to focus 100% of our energy on putting the finishing touches on Emporium of the Damned and getting it ready for you.
Honestly, the zine is pretty close--I have a little bit of final formatting work to do to get everything as perfect as I like and I still need to do a handful of illustrations--but the majority of the heavy lifting is done. The book is all written, layout is 98% done, and artwork is about 60%. Once I have it all looking nice and slick, I'll hand it back to Ahimsa for a final editing process and we'll be ready to print this demented tome.
We're still waiting to get specifics from Exalted Funeral about combined shipping before we send out backer surveys. I think that you might actually get those from Exalted Funeral and not us, but I'm really not sure yet. Either way, shipping is scheduled for January, so there's a bit of time still for that. But expect digital rewards to be ready much earlier than that. We'll keep you posted.

This community really is the best and we are so thankful to be a part of it. Emporium of the Damned is officially our most backed project ever 🤘🤘🤘and also our first collab. I loved this process and hope to do another one sometime in the future. I love the Emporium--Ahimsa has put so much excitement and energy into the writing and I am having an absolute blast doing the illustrations for it. I can't wait to get it out to you all and to hear what you have to say about it. We will not be doing an add-on store for this project--it's just the zine--because it will be shipping from Exalted Funeral with all of the other combined shipping projects. They plan to do the shipping in January, but we will definitely have the pdfs out to you much sooner. Thanks again for keeping the table clean and we'll be in touch.
