Project Update: Bulllseye & Crosshair UNLOCKED! All designs are available!

ALL of the full size Deadweights and the Bantam Burials are now available! We've hit all our goals!! That means the twins are here to stay at last!

I've been getting asked this a lot in recent days, so let me explain some things about Deadweights availability post campaign:

Yes, the plush will be available post-campaign! They will be up for pre-order and eventual immediate shipment sale on my website lairbrew.com!
No, the plush will not be permanently available post-campaign. Once they sell out they will not be re-ordered!
Stickers and pins will be available online in very limited numbers. The Guz stickers specifically will likely be re-released occasionally during other crowdfunding campaigns though!
I will not be ordering a lot of excess plush. Deadweights will not be able to fit on all of my convention setups, so they will be for sale mostly as online goods. I don't have a ton of room for storage these days because I'm always having to bulk up the numbers on key designs to keep them in stock.
It is unlikely I will ever do more Deadweights designs soon. If I ever release the 2nd series I designed (or the Legends Never Die mythical series) they will probably be several years apart. I've been encountering issue after issue while exploring the possibility of building, buying, or renting more space, and until something gives on one of those fronts I must be VERY selective in the projects I introduce.

Project Update: Switchblade Unlocked!

We're at that point of the campaign where funding keeps unlocking and re-locking a goal as pledges are changed, so this is just a quick update to say:

Switchblade is unlocked!

Bullseye & Crosshair are the last to be unlocked, and we're just 3k away!

Now is a great time to share the campaign, I'm sure we'll unlock them but the sooner that is done the better! Many people refuse to support if a design they want isn't already unlocked, even though that's a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy. The sooner we unlock Bullseye & Crosshair the better as a result!

Others pull their support if a design they want doesn't unlock quickly enough since they're worried about forgetting to adjust their pledge before the campaign ends. For peace of mind, you do get a reminder before the campaign ends! If you're worried about forgetting to adjust your pledge before cards are charged the system will poke you closer to the finish line, so please do consider staying on until then. It gives us the best chance of actually hitting the goal!

Project Update: UNLOCKED: Daisy, Roger, and Persephone! 2 designs remain!

Hey all, BIG update time: after after a couple conventions went like WAY better than expected, I got to do some new numbers for the plush. I've re-budgeted because I'm suddenly able to do a much larger percentage out of pocket, which has helped massively. This means:

Both full size and bantam burial size versions of each character now unlock at the same time!
We are now less than $5,000 away from unlocking all designs!

This is for several reasons. Mostly because I've taken a lot of back end stuff out of the project's funding goal and made it a cost I'm handling myself. Fees, advertising, and safety testing all add up to a really big part of the budget, but thanks to our shop doing far better than expected when I budgeted all this out in January I was able to take all the extra from my pin projects and Carrion Baggage earlier this year and put it in to this one. Yes, that's a bit of a hit my pockets in the end, but I want to give back to the plush lovers out there however I can.

Just Switchblade the Cat and Bullseye & Crosshair the Conjoined Calves remain to be unlocked!

Also, a little oopsie on my part: it seems when I went to discontinue the earlybird price tier I didn't hit save, so uh. Congrats to those who noticed before me! It lasted a bit longer than 48 hours, but it is now fully packed up. If you were one of those later backers to get it, don't worry, the discount is not being taken from you!

Let's aim high and see how far we go everyone!

Project Update: We're live... and funded!!

Wow y'all that was QUICK!! Thank you all so much for supporting this project, especially one this different from my usual plush. It is always scary to do something new, but seeing these designs be received so warmly makes me so glad I took the chance and put them out there. They've been a long time coming and it will be amazing to finally release these little terrors.

So again, sincerely, thank you.

Who are you the most excited for? I personally can't wait for Roger, I hope we get there! He's just so cute! Then again I have a severe bird bias. If I had to pick a second favorite.... it'd be between the calves and Persephone, I think.

Our first goal was a double: Hook the Salmon is now guaranteed, and so is his Bantam Burial! From here on those two plush types will be unlocking separately. Next up is Hugs! Earlybird prices are only available for the first 48 hours and after that they will disappear!

Our partner project Fangy Friends 2 had a launch issue that has since been resolved. If you want to get a free Pompom plush for backing both projects but couldn't do it at launch, it's up now!

I'll be leaving for Furry Migration tomorrow! We will be vending in the Dealer's Den all weekend, so I will be a wee bit distracted until Monday, but I'll do my best to keep on top of updates and answering questions. My plan is to bring the Deadweights prototypes with me to have as part of our booth display, so consider popping by to see them in person if you're attending. Their size will probably surprise you!

Project Update: New Deadweights photos! Also how to get a super reduced BANTAM BURIALS PLUSH!

I finally got to do a photo shoot with all the finished prototypes! I was trying to wait for better weather, but it has just kept getting hotter, so I went outside to bake for a bit unfortunately. These aren't super exciting on their own, but I know there are folks who've been wanting to see them from other angles and in less artificial lighting.

Before I start in on those, one other announcement! You can now place a reservation on the campaign!

Reserve backers will get a Bantam Burial plush of their choice included with their rewards as long as they have a shipped non-flat reward! That means if you reserve but don't back, or if you back at only the tip level or only for a sticker, you will not receive one. It is $8 to reserve, but if you get a Bantam Burial by itself through the campaign it is $15, or $18 regular retail. Reserves can be put toward promoting the campaign or making prototypes before production for things I might not otherwise get to (such as the pins,) so they're a big help. The reserve option will disappear at launch!

Followers of the campaign before launch also get a free mini pin with the same reward restrictions, so even if reserving isn't something you want to do make sure you follow the page if you plan to back at all. Anyway! Enjoy some summer time shots!

The prototype for Roger is not weighted, something that will have to be corrected in manufacturing. His wings will hang more and his legs will be easier to balance over a shelf than they currently are.

Persephone's arms are not weighted in the prototype, so they will hang more come manufacturing time, and that will make a much better counterweight to her immense backside.

By the time I got to Switchblade I was feeling way too warm. I didn't have enough photos turn out well for him because my shakes were acting up from the heat stress. I did his photos with Anthrax, one of the Fangy Friends bats, in the shade. Did you know we're launching alongside Fangy Friends 2? If you like Deadweights you'll probably like the Perished Plushies line!

I'll leave you with everyone all together, with and without their Bantam Burial counterparts, and some transparent background pictures! I will probably re-photograph these guys when my marigold beds bloom and when we're in fall colors for spooky season, but since the campaign is launching in early September I couldn't wait for that unfortunately.
