These books are action and adventure, sword and sorcery, with a slow-burn romantic subplot. There is no spicy romantic content. Some mature themes are addressed in the book; one of the societies maintains a system of slavery, and one of the characters we follow is enslaved. It is a military fantasy with non-gory violence. Familial dysfunction, including emotional and physical abuse, is a challenge faced in the story, and there is one attempted and interrupted female-on-male sexual assault, non-graphic. I wish I knew. A "reviewer," posting in multiple places, alleges that the presence of an enslaved character in the book series proves that I in real life endorse and promote chattel slavery. This is rather obviously not the case, and not just from the way the topic of slavery is handled in the story itself: I donated over 100% -- actually losing money on every pre-order -- of original launch profits from Shard & Shield toward International Justice Mission to fight slavery in our own world. When others have pointed out that the books are clearly against slavery, the "reviewer" just continues undeterred. I don't know this person, or how my series drew his fixation, but I recommend ignoring rather than engaging.

You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.

Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
