Wanted to give a quick update on where Imaria stands at the moment:
One of the biggest challenges throughout production has been the layout process. While writing, editing, artwork, and other development have continued to move forward, layout became the primary bottleneck affecting the project's timeline.
Over the past several months, we've been working to address that by expanding our internal layout capabilities and distributing the workload across more of the team. During that process, we also had to navigate the unexpected departure of our primary layout designer, which required us to reorganize responsibilities and establish a more sustainable workflow.
Although those changes took time, we're now seeing the results. The new workflow is in place, production is moving forward, and we're finally at a stage where we can show meaningful progress.
Below is a video showcasing the current state of the Pillars of Power book. While there is still work to be done before it's complete, we wanted to share a look at how the book is coming together. Going forward, we'll continue sharing visual updates like this so you can follow the project's progress alongside us.
We know many of you have been waiting patiently, and we appreciate that more than we can say. Thank you for sticking with us through the challenges we've faced. We're looking forward to sharing more milestones as we continue working toward fulfillment.
We wanted to share a quick update and a small peek behind the curtain as work on Imaria continues.
Production is moving forward, and the team has been hard at work bringing all the pieces of the project together.
Today, we wanted to share a look at the official Imaria character sheet. The sheet has been designed specifically for Imaria while remaining familiar to 5E players. There are dedicated spaces for Imaria-specific mechanics, themed artwork inspired by the world's Pillars of Power, and a layout intended to keep important information easily accessible during play.
We know many of you are eager to get Imaria to the table, and so are we! We'll continue sharing progress as we move forward and have more to show.
As always, thank you for your patience and support for the world beyond the Veil.
There is now just one week left to back Imaria: Beyond the Veil on BackerKit. Thank you to everyone who has supported the campaign so far.
Building Characters in Imaria
One of the core ideas behind Imaria is giving players more ways to shape the kind of character they want to bring to the table.
The setting introduces a range of new people and character options, each shaped by the forces that define the world.
From the mysterious zayan-kuu, to the magic-born skytouched, to the anthropomorphic niimals, Imaria offers a wide range of lineages to build from, each with their own place in the world.
Alongside that, Imaria adds new ways to play through its three new classes:
The Weavebreaker, who channels anti-magic
The Aeonsage, who bends time through ethereal chronomancy
The Psionicist, who wields powerful mental abilities
These options are designed to open up new approaches to storytelling, character building, and long-form play.
Damien Haas in Imaria
We’ve also had the chance to see creators and performers bring their own characters to life in Imaria.
Damien Haas has been playing in the setting and created a character that perfectly captures the kind of freedom Imaria allows at the table.
There’s still time to explore the campaign, check out the preview materials, and see everything included.
