Last month I promised a boring shipping update, but instead I have an exciting shipping update: the books are here!
You may have noticed that I started the process of locking orders yesterday. Tomorrow I will be able to start charging credit cards and locking shipping addresses. You will receive emails at each step of this process to make sure that your information is up-to-date.
If you want to check ahead of time, you can always review your survey by going to https://www.backerkit.com/c/users/active_projects, clicking the Your Surveys tab, and scrolling down to the Out of the Iron Labyrinth entry.
Physical Fulfillment
Once cards have been charged and addresses have been locked, I will start shipping the books. I expect to be able to get through all of them next week. If you live anywhere that is NOT the EU or UK, you can expect an email with a tracking number at that point. If you live in the EU or UK, you'll need to wait a few weeks longer as I ship your rewards to my fulfillment partner in the UK, who will then ship them to you (hopefully saving you some extra taxes/fees when the packages arrive).
In-Person Fulfillment
In-person fulfillment at PAXU is still on the table! If you opted to avoid shipping charges and pick up your rewards at PAXU, your order will be locked now, but I will not be charging your credit card at this time. Instead, I will keep your order in BackerKit purgatory until we successfully make the hand-off in December in Philadelphia. I will get in touch with you via email to set up the hand-off closer to the convention. If something happens, and we do not connect, I'll charge your card and ship your rewards after the convention in the usual fashion.
Digital Fulfillment
While Out of the Iron Labyrinth has been fully released digitally for a while now, once the orders are locked, I can proceed with the release of all of the digital add-ons as well. If your pledge included digital add-ons, you will receive those through BackerKit in the coming days.
