Hi everyone! Not sure where October went, but all of a sudden 2026’s Book Bazaar starts in just three days, on the 29th? Spooky month is going by all too fast! This year we have an even bigger collection of indie authors and small presses. I'll be funding my latest book. It's wild to me that this will be my third campaign already. Really appreciate you all for helping me reach this point!
Friends for Lonely Gods shares some similar DNA with Graft and Honeycomb Heart—autistic self-rep, fantasy allies and enemies, and characters struggling with how much of themselves to share with the world or hide. The novel has its roots (and early drafts) in the same developmental time of my life as Graft. It's been so close to ready to share with the world for quite some time now, and returning to work on it has been a real pleasure. Sequels to both Graft and Honeycomb Heart are in very early stages, and will likely be my main focus for 2027; for the end of 2026, I wanted to introduce you to a book that's raring to be let out.
The book's beginning, as well as previews of 20+ participating Bazaar projects, is available for free as part of a bundle on Itch throughout the campaign! I've been sharing more about Friends for Lonely Gods's characters and development on social media, but keep an eye on the updates section there for some sneak peeks and writing lore.
Side note for Honeycomb Heart backers—I’m sending out what will likely be the final package for this campaign today! Just have a couple surveys unfilled, but otherwise I’m considering fulfillment for this campaign done! And—if you haven't heard me screeching about it yet—2026's Book Bazaar starts at the end of this month! The indie author and small press squad is even larger this time around. I'm nearing the end of my current draft for Friends for Lonely Gods, and am hoping to have at most one more round of general revisions followed by a final round of line edits and polishing before it's ready to share with the world.
This might be my last update on this campaign for the year, though I imagine I'll be back here with a big announcement once I'm further into my work on the sequel. It's been a big 12 or so months for me between running and fulfilling two campaigns, as well as all the other writing projects/distractions I haven't been able to keep myself away from. I'm aiming for 2027 to be a year of continuing to grow the worlds that I've had the pleasure of sharing with you from 2025 to 2026.
At the risk of sounding repetitive: thank you for being here, and I hope you're all enjoying the change of the seasons.
For the nine of you I haven't gotten surveys back from yet, please fill them out by the end of July if you want to be part of the first wave of rewards being sent out! Ebooks are quick to add names to but messing with the print files takes longer since I have to wait to order your books.
For everyone else, ebooks will be on their way very shortly, and I will be placing the bulk order of paperbacks once I have the print file acknowledgements updated and approved!
For those of you who have filled out your surveys, I've set them to lock in 48 hours. This allows me to charge for shipping and any add-ons that were added after the campaign finished. If you need to update your survey and don't get to it in time, please email me ASAP so I can unlock it for you.
For people who haven't filled out your surveys yet, please do so as soon as you get the chance. If you don't fill out your survey by the end of this month, your name will not appear in the first round of ebooks and paperbacks sent out. I will add your name to the acknowledgements as soon as you fill out your survey so that it'll appear in the copy you receive and all editions going forward. I just don't want to leave other people waiting for too long to receive their books given previous delays.
