Find yourself in these small travellers as the politcal landscape of Mouseborn unfolds. The Mice, Birds, and Frogs support The Mouse King Edrin, in his fight for the forest to remain as it once was during the peaceful reign of the past. Rotweavers are eerie spellcasters draw strength from decay itself, raising the fallen creatures of the forest back into their service. Woodland folk hear the tales of the Rotweavers from the Northern Marsh. They fear the gaze of their glowing eyes and what they bring. Because all know, wherever there is a Rotweaver, death will soon follow!
Rootseers are the builders and breakers of the underground world. Armed with sturdy hammers, they carve through stone and root, to create the woodland tunnel system. Their natural detection senses allow them to sense danger early on. If needed, the Rootseer can bring the tunnel down around their enemies in a shower of dirt and collapsing stone.
Featherlights patrol the skies above the forest canopy with unmatched speed and grace. These aerial fighters dive into action spearing enemies with deadly momentum. Many forest dwellers look to the skies to watch these warriors take to action!
Irontails stand as disciplined defenders of the Northern Marsh. Some fight on foot in tightly formed shield walls while others ride massive toads across muddy marshlands and flooded terrain. Though small in stature, they will hold their ground to protect their territory.
Redcoils are burrowing predators that glide effortlessly through packed soil and winding tunnels, stalking unwary travelers who wander too close to their hidden dens. The Redcoil prefers to strike from the shadows, coiling tightly before lunging with terrifying speed. victims caught within it’s constricting grip will quickly find themselves unable to move.
Insect Swarms look harmless at first, then the forest floor starts moving. Insects of all types working together to swarm you! This group of insects will overwhelm their prey with sheer numbers alone. Spilling over barricades in endless tides. Before you know it, you will be completely surrounded.
Plains Foxes are clever hunters that roam the tall grasses and open fields beyond the safety of the woodland paths, using sharp senses and sudden bursts of speed to overwhelm unsuspecting prey. A Plains Fox rarely attacks head on. Instead, it circles patiently, waiting for the perfect moment to strike before darting away through the brush!
Earth Magic the magic of soil, stone, sand, and substrate; the growth of plants; and the reinforcement of organic structures. It is one of the most common and most respected forms of magic. Many of its practitioners are also farmers, and their work is considered sacred.
Air Magic the elemental magic most common among birds, involving spells of stealth, the detection of atmospheric pressure changes, and directed gusts of wind. It is rare but extremely powerful.
"FORBIDDEN" MAGIC - FIRE! The use of fire magic is restricted by law throughout all territories under the direct sovereignty of the Mouse King. While it can be useful for maintaining warmth during harsh winters and controlling flames, it also carries enormous risks. Mages who master fire spells do so under the supervision of the great schools, and they are both respected and feared. Adventurers who are fire spellcasters should be aware of this: casting Burning Hands can be as socially disruptive as drawing a sword in the middle of a market.
