We would like to share some early concept art from our work with Shun-san!
Sword World Art Director: Shun-san
These pieces (shown below) are drawn by multiple artists and are, again, just concepts for what different artists we have been working with think that Sword World could look or feel like. They are not complete and are not intended as final art in detail, style, or even subject matter, but represent the artistic exploration of art direction for Sword World.
All of these pieces are first drafts, and several of them are already multiple versions old even as concepts, but I think they're fun to share now as we've gotten further along in the art direction process.
We're always open to feedback, but I do want to say that we are working with the art and creative team in Japan on the overall direction, so ultimately we're interested in letting them keep their stylistic decisions from their expertise in Japanese RPG, anime, and manga backgrounds.
Secret_Scroll Gets First Dibs
If you haven't heard already, the Secret_Scroll is a channel on our Discord server that gets to see everything we're sharing here and on social media FIRST. Before anyone else. They have already seen these concept images. If you would like to be in the Secret_Scroll, all you have to do is join our Discord server and start leveling up by being active and completing quests for XP. Once you get to level 15, you'll become a Fellow of the Blade, which will grant you access to that Secret_Scroll channel.
What's even cooler about this channel is you'll get to chat first hand with Shawn and Ai about the crowdfund, as they periodically pop in to say hi.
