no.
Yes, insomuch as 2014 and 2024 are compatible with one another. Where there are any greater divergences, we'll make note of it in sidebars for the sake of conversion or include an addendum. Our community has expressed interest in continuing to play the 2014 version, so we've styled the book in a way where it can be enjoyed using both editions.
Due to the seismic shifts in the social media landscape, BackerKit enticed us with interesting tools and assistance through their platform that could help make results more predictable. As we're a new group, we're doing our best to learn, grow, and adapt in order to improve our services to you as both a customer and gamer. We will look out for any feedback and see how this process goes.
International sales outside of the US will be handled by ShipQuest whose main hub is in the United Kingdom. This includes Canada this time around as we've crunched the numbers and noticed to avoid any surprise issues with customs, we'd rather stick with ShipQuest's more predictable system. On that note, we will be collecting shipping fees earlier than later in order to reduce the potential for uncertainties down the line. We are committed to keeping costs as low as possible for international customers and we will keep everyone abreast of any developments regarding shipment throughout the whole process.
Yes! We're more than happy to let people mix and match systems of their pdfs and books. You can specify whichever version you'd like in the survey.
Sometime by 2026 Q3 or Q4. Much of the art has already been finished. There's more we'd like to do with the writing especially pending how we meet stretch goals. Compared to Undying Corruption, our 600 page behemoth campaign book, we should be able to complete work quicker. We will continue work on The Black Market Guide through the crowdfunding campaign as well to ensure no time goes wasted.
So it seems like PayPal's payment structure conflicts with how BackerKit runs their pledges, hence why we've had to keep PayPal payments deactivated for early pledges. However, there is a workaround: please email us at [email protected] and I can send you a BackerKit link that will facilitate a one-time transaction. We appreciate your patience. If folks prefer paying with PayPal, we would have to cancel early backing and move to the preorder storefront model. Which we're happy to do if that's what people prefer.
Undying Corruption takes place in Danguk. It's an adventure that focuses on different episodes and scenarios in a land based on our research into Korean folklore and history. Black Market Guide will expand that and give a broader overview of the East Asian region. To encourage more people to pick up Undying Corruption, we're also using this project to do another print run for more books! Both in 5e AND Pathfinder 2e!
Yes you may. Backers have pointed out they'd like their maps separately and we think it's a good idea to offer them.
Yes, as long as you pledged within the first 48 hours, your reward will be added in the pledge manager.
We promise we will do our best to ensure your satisfaction, but we understand if financial issues pop up. We're happy to offer refunds as long as they're requested before they ship out. We consider the shipment phase to be the end stage of fulfillment. For any refunds after, due to processing fees in different platforms, we can't promise a full refund. We can only refund physical merchandise, not digital ones, once they're delivered if a refund is requested after the project ends.
We've run into two scenarios: 1. People who are paying in increments will receive their surveys after they've finished paying. You have a bit of time there. If you know what you want for your character commission, you can just email us at [email protected] and contact us with all your references. We can discuss matters there. 2. If the above doesn't match your situation, I suggest contacting BackerKit support. It's possible that when you tried accessing your survey, you weren't logged into the proper email that you backed us with. Regardless, I'm more than happy to see what the issue is on our end as well.
Yes, that was a technical error. To resolve this issue in the easiest way possible, we'll send everyone who pledged both versions.
Due to digital downloads exclusive to higher tiers being available, I review each request to switch to a lower tier on a case by case basis. There's no issue largely if you request to switch before completing your survey the first time. Please contact me at [email protected] if you'd like to inquire more about switching tiers.
BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
