SECOND author pay rise reached! 🎊🎊🎊
HECK YEAH we have now tripled author payments! I could not be more thrilled, look at us go!! In a world where queer adult fiction is increasingly coming under attack, this is an incredible achievement and a reminder that we're not going anywhere.
As promised, backers will find their bonus flashfic linked below.

First Author Payrise Reached!! 🎉🎉🎉
FRIENDS. We did it, we're doubling our contributing author payments!! The most important thing to me with this anthology was being able to pay fair compensation for excellent fiction and I'm so thrilled to be able to offer a fairer rate—we haven't gone pro yet, but a strange little editor-shaped creature can dream 🤩
Now for the real challenge: can we triple the original payment? Reaching $450AUD will allow me to put an additional $40AUD in the hands of our beloved authors. This is especially important to Lauren E. Mitchell who tells me they have Halloween shopping to do.
The Deep is currently winning the vote in the next anthology theme poll here on Backerkit (backers: Vote! Make your voice heard! Manifest the stories you want to see in the world!) and it just so happens I have a little something tucked aside that fits that theme, so: if we make our second achievement, I will also release a sea creature flash fic exclusively for backers.
If you haven't backed, there's your added incentive to get on that. If you have, tell a friend/loved one/total stranger who looks cool!

We did it! We funded Teeth in just under 13 hours which is appropriately spooky. I'm so proud of us!

I'm so glad to have all of you along for the ride with this anthology and I hope you'll enjoy reading it as much as I have. I'm so thrilled to be bringing these excellent stories to the world and to be proving that people do want queer fiction.
